The Wolf Camping is getting annoying.
I enter an area, there is a wolf pack, I run into a building to avoid them, decide to sleep a few hours inside building. Wake up, Walk outside, Immediatly pounced on by the wolves who chased me before.

What's the point in this? It's not a fun mechanic at all when Enemies just camp your exit point all the time.

It is said, that this game is as close to IRL as possible. Let's imagine - you are followed by the pack of hungry wolves. You enter some shack and wait for a couple of hours. Guess what will happen when you exit the building...:steamsad::hatchetTLD::spg2wolf:

This is very true.

Although, unlike IRL, you can only engage one wolf at a time in TLD. Normally someone would be flailing all around him/herself with an axe and torch trying like mad to land a hit on the surrounding wolves. And using your feet to kick the hell out of 'em. And trying to crush their skulls with thrown rocks. And screaming at the top of your lungs lol.

Not trying to be disagreeable of course, TLD does a really good job at simulating a lot of things. Just saying the combat mechanics sort of force you into a narrow path of choices that doesn't always reflect reality all that well. Of course that's necessary for the game to remain a fair and balanced challenge, but it can sometimes feel rather unfair when the game mechanics don't allow for certain things that would otherwise be (un)likely IRL. :steamhappy:

Agreed, But I will bet 4 pancakes that Kray Toast entered the Quonset from the rear, has no rifle or bow and the player started their run in CH.
You owe us 4 pancakes then.

I chose a Random Spawn on Voyager (the owl) to build up my feats, Spawned ontop of a Cliff. Took a mountain rope down and found out I was in the Milton Town.

My issue is when I'm escaping wolves in that town. I'll outrun one, Make it back to the door just as a wolf is coming up behind me, But I'm safe and sound inside.

I go to bed, sleep for 7-8hrs, Wake up, Walk outside, POUNCED ON by that same wolf who is in the same position he was in after chasing me 8 hours ago.

I understand the whole wolves stalking a area bit, The wolf camping I'm talking about is when a Wolf that was right outside your door before you went inside, Is still RIGHT THERE in that same spot as soon as you come out a few hours later.

Enjoy your pancakes! Wait, does that mean we ALL get pancakes?

I digress; you didn't mention whether you are carrying any meat or guts. If you are, that is the explanation. The wolf will track you and attack you if you have them on your person.

Lol! Pancakes for everyone! Yep. I had completely forgotten to consider DeathByWolfMob Mountain Town. :os_pancakes:

This is a learning experience. The question of having meat or guts on you is important. If you don't have any on you then you will learn that there are places you shouldn't go until you can defend yourself properly...either Archery 5 or have a rifle. If you spawned there restart as it will be a nightmare trying to avoid wolves all day. Milton is a tough map when unprepared.

I'm pretty sure OP is playing Voyageur...Milton has just about everything needed for a good start.

IRL Starving Wolves are opportunists. You would only have to wound or kill one for the rest to focus on him as their next meal. In this game wolves are not behaving as they ought to. They may be driven mad by the goings on. What I hate the the never ending spawn. You manage to kill a few, and a few more pop up within a couple minutes.

You ought to be able to thin the herd over longer periods of time.
I think that it is possible to thin the heard but you need to kill a lot of them. It's like how rabbits and deer areas have less of them over time if you kill a lot of them. However wolfs are tougher and/or more expensive to kill than the passive animals.

Quonset hut is worse then mountain town by far. Don't forget Quonset hut also has the bear which gives you the wonderful option of waiting for the bear to scare the wolves away and then go outside.

And a Moose who likes to mosey through town, right up to the garage sometimes. The wolves do seem to disappear if Bullwinkle and Yogi are outside, in the townstie, at the same time. Like that helps any, at that point... xD

You mean "who likes to moosey through town"

Some areas are just not safe. This includes some of the more desirable locations in the game, such as ML Camp Office, Mountaineer's Hut, Quonset and Mountain Town.

Wolves spawn in these areas, which means they also patrol them. You can never be sure there's not a wolf close by in these places, so it's best not to make a permanent base there.

Idk about indoor, but last week i got stuck at night to harvest my deer, i took the whole thing and tryed to make a run over my place about 100M away, pretty ambitious.

I was being chased by an angry green glowing wolf and got forced into a car.. The basturd stayed there growling for 2h while i skiped time.

I think they only behave like this at night, or when they see you enter a place with alot of meat on you, or both.

I got lucky enough to run over a spotlight by the car which somehow scared that little turd away, then it came back and i got a lucky arrow.

I'll soon be wearing his hide as a fine cape to celebrate my victory... If i survive.

To be fair, Milton was pretty infested with wolves last I checked, so.
