One of the warmest I saw was next to a forge sitting at a 150 feels like. I'm sure it can get higher.

Feels Like temp, or acutal ambient air temp/windchill temp?

Lol! Clarify, because I know I have had Feels Like temps well over 110°F while layered in the warmest clothing, standing next to the the furnace, doing some forging. Somehow, I suspect those temps do not really count? Or do they?

(I suspect Feels Like temps will vary significantly between experience modes as well, Pilgrim will always be warmest, with the warmest ambient weather temps, and fires always overcoming ambient air temps, quickly and easily...)

Of course, Lets go with actual air tempature, Without any clothes or fire. Mine is 1C on Stalker early game maybe day 3.

I don't think I've ever seen anything above zero C, really. Maybe in the earlier days in a sheltered spot, but those times I don't even look at it.

Actual air temp? I think I saw it barely above freezing once. it was about 33F. (about 1C?) This was in CH about day 40. IIRC it was on Voyageur.

Good question. Like others, I’ve probably failed to look when the temperature was that high and missed it.

But if the air temperature really was above freezing for longer than a short period, some important aspects of the game would get a bit problematic - for example, all the ice on those bodies of water would get pretty thin eventually, and the gullies would fill with meltwater... so my guess is that the freezing point of water is the chosen ‘ceiling’ to keep all that ice and snow in place.

I don't think I've ever seen a positive outside air temperature (above freezing, Centigrade). If its not hardcoded thus, I'll eat my hat.

Considering it is the point that is used for feels like where it is either warming or getting colder, filling or emptying the icon meter, why would they automatically make it warm enough outside to keep you warm without doing or wearing anything?

Just to clarify, Actual air ambient tempature, Outdoors, No clothing bonus or warmth from fire.

Yep. outside in CH near the "Bear Creek Campground" area. taking a handfull of cattails before heading on to PV, I saw it got barely above freezing as the actual tempature.

Can you imagine Snoopy trying to survive in TLD. That would be a great game. Would he sleep ontop of his doghouse? LOL Thank you.
jswilliams Dec 12, 2018 @ 12:56pm
He'd sleep on top of Trapper's for safety.

I can also see him skating on Mystery Lake and fighting the Red Baron. In Story mode he would search for Woodstock. Any NPC would do the trombone voice.
