Constantly howling wolves
Seriously what's up with the wolves? They used to howl every now and then, but now they howl constantly pretty much with no end.

You're not supposed to complain about anything here. The sycophantic butt-boys who constantly fellate the dev team will get mad.

The wolves are waiting for you bro, they howling for you to come

Oddly enough, the constant wolves howling now is working as intended. The infrequent howling you're used to was apparently a bug, in that they weren't howling ENOUGH.

The constant howling you hear now, is the new normal.

Seriously? It's beyond infuriating. Completely ruins the atmosphere of the game, not to mention the difficulty as you can't not hear when they're close now. Before hearing the howling made you go "oh ♥♥♥♥", now it's just an annoyance when the game is constantly in your face with it.

Kill them all and the howling goes away. That is the best solution I have found so far and as a bonus you can level cooking up faster to the point where you then have peace and quite and lots of tasty wolf steaks.:steammocking:

Tried that in crumbling highway where killed the wolves there - could still hear howling even though no more wolves to be found. I guess can still hear the ones in neighboring CH and/or DP ?

I've read somewhere - another thread maybe - that howling of the wolves were always meant to be as they are now and that the problem that they weren't was 'fixed' in the latest update.

I'm already used to it and the howls seem to be on the periphery of my hearing now as the only way to 'fix' it is to turn ingame sounds off - which is something I really don't want to do as I need to hear which direction the wolves/moose/bears are coming from to keep alive. *sighs*

Listen, they're not all together, there's a pack of wolves to the north, another to the south et. but some wolves do not roar simply attack without defense chances.

if the new howling is as intended.... thats insane and please re-break it!

The old howling mechanic was fairly useful. you could tewll when wolves stopped chasing you for example. Now you sort fo get direction but not as good as you did previously.. mostly you get annoyed.

It used to be incredibly immersive just walking and only hearing the wind and your footsteps. That's what I loved about the game and one of the things it did great. Now that's ruined by the howling constantly pulling you out of it. Why they thought this was a good idea is beyond me.
