Story mode. How to read books

So I started playing the game after the update. Any idea how to read books in story mode. I picked up a book called "Field dressing, your kill vol 1".

From what I remember, you could read the books by going into your inventory and clicking on it (And it was only in survival mode). Now, while playing the story mode, I can't seem to find it in my inventory. I can only find it under 'Journal', but I can't read it, only examine it.

Any ideas?

Ever noticed that there are no skills in story mode? (only the secondary ones like repairing or sharpening exist). So there is no point in reading books. I don't get why people are so dead set on wanting to read them

The books exist to unlock the survival school quests now.

Ok thanks. I wouldn't say I was dead set on reading the books, was just wondering what purpose they had in being in the story mode.

general discussions is basically for Survival and Challenge Mode discussions and questions. Hinterlnad set up a dedicated Wintermute subforum, which you can access from the subforums link menu, on the middle right side of the main forums page. It is marked as haveing Spoilers, so people should know that they may see spoilers in threads there. Here, you are giving out possibly spoilers to people who have not yet played Wintermute, or gotten this far into it, with no spoiler tags or warnings.
