How can I readjust brightness?
It seems I'd set it wrong because it's pitch black where there should be at least some light.

I mean, it doesn't make sense I can't see a shet despite game decided there are enough light to let me see the books, right?

You cannot adjust brightness in the game, but before you enter your save game, when you can quit out of TLD completely, check the options. There should be a brightness selection in them. You can start by doing what the game says should be bright enough then adjust as needed. You are not wrong to make it brighter.

I remember, I think when story mode update came out, that the interior of buildings were pitch dark on what should be the "correct setting". I adjusted my brightness so I could barely see without having to use a lantern though that did make the outside perhaps too lighted. There were some adjustments by the devs and I backed off on my brightness settings to what I was comfortable with. In general, many buildings now have a sort of dim bluish interior light effect once the sun is completely down though it can be kind of rough until it kicks in.

Gotta find your own comfort zone.
