Mystery Lake / Trapper's Homestead / Bear advice please!
Dear forums, I am about 4 days into a Voyageur run on Mystery Lake, no luck yet finding a rifle but will check another couple of locations and hopefully get one.

By the Trapper's Homestead, down and eastwards is a very handy area where rabbits can be caught (sort of round towards Max's Last Stand), and I'd like to be able to catch them. But on this run I've got a large brown friend roaming the area.

Assuming I find a rifle, do you have any advice on how to tackle the bear? I have read plenty about different ways to try killing a bear in general... so what I want is advice on tackling a bear in THIS exact location. Any good places to stand / hide? Lure it to the homestead maybe, shoot then go inside?

Thanks!

Going inside will likely reset the bear. Shoot from the tree near his den or climb on the rock where he can not.

Or, easier yet, you usually have a rabbit grove just right behind the Trapper's Homestead. It's literally 5 seconds away when you step out the door (when you're out, turn left about 100°) and it's always wolves and bears free.

Excellent advice from you all, many thanks!

Nogen, yes I know about those rabbits but there are only two there. Also, I'd just like to take out that darn bear – he worries me (and I just want to shoot a bear).
