Are you inside or outside? Might be a glitch if you aren't in a cave. Try moving forward while simultaniously crouching then standing up again. A lot of times if you get blurped like that doing that little trick will get you out of it.

Walking into or against a strong wind, perhaps? If you are wilking directly into strong winds, or they are hitting you from the side(s), your travel speed will slow, and sometimes it can be quite dramatic how quickly you slow down, and how much you can be slowed.

Lol, forgot about that. :P

Lol! I think we all forgot things like that at times. There's so much that needs to be paid attention to at times.
"Why am i suddenly moving so slow when I walk into this wide open area, with no windbreaks?"
*looks at trees blowing back and forth*
*hears wind howling*
*hears the sound of tree branches snapping*
*sees grasses and cattails whipping back and forth*
*looks at stats page or clothing UI and sees really high numbers beside "windchill"*
*watches outside layer of clothing decaying at an accelerated rate*
*moves behind a roick formation, sees the Shield with a swrl pop up, starts moving at a normal pace while it is showing*

Things to look at if you are outdoors.

But yeah, if indoors, or in a mine or cave... shouldn't be a factor. That's something else happening.

I restarted and it fixed it, It is definitely a glitch as it has happened indoors and outdoors. Thanks for all the help! Not a HUGE issue, but one that should be adressed at least.

If it happens again, make sure to file a bug report on it, and attach the output_log.txt from that save, on the JIRA/Atlassian Bug Report Database website, here: https://hinterlandgames.atlassian.net/projects/TLDP

Since it may get missed in general discussions (there are too many threads for Hinterland to be able to read every single post, on every singe one...), but they do try to read all posts in the Technical Issues subforum. The JIRA website automatically adds the report to the database for triae and investigation, and can help save the small tech team a good bit of time, if they don't heave to manually enters it from the forums.

It actually did just happen again, a simple restart is all that is needed. However I will look into reporting the bug and sending in my data for sure!

Drawing the bow and holstering it without relaxing the bow can put you in a slow mode as if the bow was still drawn. To fix, draw the bow again and relax it (right mouse button) and all is fixed. Just another thing that might slow you down.

That's how it works? I've had that glitch happen a few times, and I didn't know the cause of it. I knew how to get out of it of course, but never knew what triggered it. Thanks! xD

Interesing. I have been using the bow exclusively in my hunts lately. Thanks!
I had similar events occur on Timberwolf. Clear weather around 20 kg walking normally and suddenly it was like I had 35-40 kg on me,moving but it was agonizing. Dropped most of my gear and I still moved at the same pace. It eventually fixed itself but I have no idea what caused it.

I was actually thinking about making a thread about this. It's happened to me probably 15 times. Quitting the game fixes the problem every time, but sometimes it happens in places where you can't save the game and that's where it can be a serious issue. It seems like this bug is fairly common, so I bet Hinterlands is going to fix it soon.
If people are not reporting the bug on the Atlassian website, or at the very least in the Techinal Issues subforum... they may not know something needs to be fixed? Because.... these forums roll quickly, they cannot read every single post in every single thread. They read the technical Issues because... possible bug reports. The Atlassian website enters the bug reports left there directly into their internal databse, for tirage and investigation. So they can't miss the reports.

If you are encountering what you think is a bug, report it there, please. So they actually know about it.
