My goal gear is always:
Balaclava/wool hat...rabbit hat is OK too, but it is nice to repair with just cloth too
outer coat: Expedition parka inner coat: urban parka
shirts: fisherman's sweaters x2
outer pants: Combat pants inner pants: Snow pants
Wool underwear x2
climbing socks x2
wool mittens
muclucks
ear muffs x2...or perhaps one moose satchel
best warmth to weight ratio gear I've found. Fisherman's sweaters are only .5° less warm than a cowichan, but weighs .5kg less.
combat pants have good warmth and defense for their weight
wool mittens are a full 1° of warmth for .1kg...If I think I might tangle with a wolf I will switch them out for gauntlets.
inner layers only apply warmth bonus...of which there is nothing better than an urban parka as far as coats go.
Doesn't spawn on interloper...though I pretty much always get one out of the pleasant valley or mystery lake maps on my voyager games.
I'm thinking:
Wool socks
Normal long underwear (I'm not sure I've seen wool underwear in Interloper)
Rabbit hat
Deer pants
Wolf/Bear coat
Rabbit gloves
Deer boots
Red plaid shirt
Brown or gray sweater
one of the normal medium weight parkas
And imminent doom.
A moose satchel is a must to protect your delicate earwraps.
Mukluks, yes. But you could consider crafting deer boots in any mode so that you have repair options.
It has been said that craftable clothes on non-Loper is unnecessary (except lol the bearcoat or wolfcoat for the small scare chance)
BUT
One thing about all these items is their Protection and decay durability. You can go weeks forgetting to look at their condition and it won't matter. After two weeks you'll be turning your sox and thermals into napkins...
Some more Loper notes...once I've settled in to crafted clothes, a ski jacket, etc at some point I ditch all clothing that is .25kg/.5C ratio at 100% condition. Hoodies, wool sox, sweatshirt/plaid shirt all that crap has to go.
Conversely, I usually wear one pair of sports sox, or two, because it's basically like carrying 1 or 2 emergency Cloth around anyway. And I don't mind repairing them because I try to get to L3 Mending sooner rather than later.
I've never died from running out of: matches, arrows, cloth, scrap metal, meds so I don't concern myself with using "non-renewable" resources.
Fixed, but yes, Mackinaws yay...but also imminent doom.
