Do moose spawn by the rubbings?
Hey all. Looking for advice for hunting my moose.
I found rubbings up by that lone cabin north of the unnamed pond in ML. So I've been camping up there for about 10 days now and no sign of the moose. Do the rubbings even mean anything?
Does he have to spawn there? Or can he be somewhere else? There's no other rubbings on the map. On my last game, I found one near the dam, and rubbings were present. In this game, there's no rubbings by the dam.
Its starting to get boring out at that cabin and I'm running low on stuff. Advice?

Edit: He finally spawned! I was on my way back from a bear hunt, and thought I saw a deer at the cabin. I was like thats weird, deer don't spawn here.. OH! And then he ate four rifle rounds. Finally got the bugger though. Patience is key I suppose.

Move on for a while.

Moose DO spawn where there are rubbings, but there is no guarantee IF or WHEN. They routinely will spawn for only a few days and then disappear for many weeks, maybe even months, before re-spawning in the same spot.

Better to keep moving around and find more rub locations, then visit them now and then for a few days. Dusk seems to be a particularly good time to spot Bullwinkle.

If you spot one, and then he de-spawns before you can drop him, move on as he won't reappear for a long time.

Okay! Thanks for the tip. I was hoping to get myself a satchel before my move to pleasant valley but maybe he will reappear before I leave. Here's to hoping!

Or the moose may spawn at one of its spawn points in PV right after you get there. They do spawn in all regions (besides transition zones), you know...

Recently in ML I saw the rubbings in the spawn point over past the unnamed pond-but when I hiked over to Trappers where there were no rubbings -there he was.

I always take tree rubbings as being just an indication of a heightened probability of Mr Moose making an appearance. He might, he might not.

Exactly. Rubbings = he may or may not be around, while no rubbings = he is definitely not around. There is no indicator that tells you if he has definitely spawned.
Not entirely true. Bullwinkle often spawns at trappers, with no tree rubbings in the area at all. Same with the Coastal Townsite. I've had him show up there, and not a single tree found that has rubbed off bark.Though, they may be there, further back into the woods, behind the furthest house, and I just did not travel there to see them.
