I think about bears when I go hunting in RL. The trouble when hunting is that you are usually trying to be quiet. This increases the risk of surprising a bear (bad). True to the news story, be careful around running water as it muffles your sound. The upside is you have a rifle, hopefully, capable of stopping a bear. My hunting rifle is similar to the one modeled in the game - ex-military .303, they make a good deer rifle, not too much hit. Although I'm usually hunting deer, I load that 10 round magazine right up - not for deer but for that possible bear encounter -LOL. F*** bear spray.
Smithers BC is located in a beautiful part of the province. Alpine meadows, great hunting, and fishing. An outdoor paradise. I recommend that local as a sporting destination.
The advantage of bear spray is that it covers a wide area so it's hard to miss!
