Is it possible to hunt with the revolver?
Typically when i go hunting say a bear all i really need is one rifle shot. One shot off is enough to get the bleedout going then i just pass the time and go search for the corpse. Does this strategy work with the revolver aswell? If i go out and shoot a bear one time with that weapon will it start bleeding out and after some time die?

Ha ha ha - thanks Methuselah - Dirty Harry is my favourite film :)

Sadonic Sahdow, you can hunt with the revolver - check if there is a bleeding mark after taking your shot. In most of the cases you will not manage to 1shot an animal so just wait and look for its carcasse. Yes, I kiled 2 bears with a single revolver shot and bleeding out.

Also bullets are quite easy to find so the revolver is a nice alternative to the rifle although it is more a defensive weapon and should not be threated as an assault rifle :)

You can also kill a wolf with one bullet, if you hit him right, best way is to use a decoy, and when he walks toward it, shoot him right in the face!
Never tried it on other animals, but it should work as well, maybe you can even kill a bear with one shot from the revolver.

It's crazy that all you really need to kill a bear is a single pistol shot. That borders on OP given the abundance of revolver rounds. Thank you for doing the tests. This will save me alot of rifle rounds and arrows.

Killed a wolf and a deer with the revolver but never a bear....though there's folk who have.

Yes, you can hunt with the revolver.....possibly the best gun in the game, IMHO.

I am not sure, I hit Reindeer 10x times with revolver, and nothing. It doesn't even bleed

it works but the accuracy and range are terrible so you have to get up close and personal in order to land a successful hit. makes hunting wolves or bears kinda dangerous.

i once killed a moose with a revolver...... after it ate 40 rounds.
and to this day at the bottom of Milton basin are scattered remains of revolver casings, that signified of that once bloody engagement are all that remain on those icy fields.

At high skill level (level 5) the bow has a 50% critical hit bonus while the rifle has a 30% bonus and the revolver has no bonus.

Given the animal model used, either of these weapons would be sufficient to get at least a bleeding wound on all but the moose, which does not bleed, and would generally result in the animal's death. There are a few actions a character can take that can result in healing a bleeding animal. A long time ago it was much worse.

The observable performance of a given weapon will vary with the location of the hit, the character skill level, and the RNG result.

I realize this post is over 5 years old and everyone responding seemingly hasn’t caught on yet,

but yeah technically possible against everything against moose as everyone is saying. But, honestly it’s just worth shooting wolves instead imo. The amount of waiting and tracking isn’t worth it imo.

You can crouch and shoot the revolver so its much better for hunting dear, I make them walk directly at me and shoot them in the head from close range. They wont notice you until they are about 8 feet away.

Ive got the forresters revolver that takes a real beating in terms of maintaining it...keep it above 80% and aim well, get loads of kills with it and have made tons of bullets for it..good chose though I normally kill wolves with a bow thesedays ( woodwrights bow)
