Can the revolver even hurt a Moose?
I know it isn’t the preferred hunting weapon, however I came across a moose while I had no rifle, so I tried to see if I could get it amsince as known, it is a valuable find. I shot the moose and it ran, but it wasn’t even bleeding. From my rock I was on, it ran past a few times (I think the bowl-like terrain was messing with it’s pathing or something) so I shot it again. Still wasn’t bleeding, so I shot it again, and again, I know I hit it at least 4-5 times. There was no blood on the grown even, and I did hit it, it stopped and there was still the blood effect when you shoot it, but it wasn’t bleeding. Which I confirmed it, when you shoot a deer, it runs until it bleeds out — it ran away, and out of visual range, it stopped running and continued to graze as normal, not hurt at all. Can revolver bullets even penetrate it’s hide or something?

Good question, but looking for blood from a moose is pointless as moose don’t bleed out. You’ll know if it’s a fatal hit if they die right after they are shot.

I forgot they didn’t bleed out, that explains some of it.

I killed a moose with a revolver once, I first shot him with the bow, but I ran out of arrows, so I used the revolver to finish the job. In the end I needd 1 arrow and 4 or 5 bullets to take him down.

You can one shot kill a moose with the revolver, but most of the time it takes me 5-6 shots. Double-checking your hit count will help you verify you are hitting what you aim at. No blood trail is a drag.

I doubt you can one-shot moose with any weapon, certainly not the revolver. Here's my experience: I located a moose in a stand of birch trees. I started a fire (as suggested in the Wiki to keep him from charging me). I then Snuck up and got 3 clean shots with revolver (moose will scream and pause moving). I waited until it walked back again landed 2 more shots, waited again, then climbed a nearby rock and landed 4 more shots with the revolver (could see blood spatters in air). Unfortunately it managed to climb the rock I was on and trample the crap outta me! Now 120 hours of broken rib affliction! After I headed back to the barn I was housing in to lick my wounds, I returned and landed 4 more clean shots at fairly close range and it finally fell!

That's 13 total shots before I could kill it! I suppose a bow and arrow or rifle would have done a much better job, but I didn't have either. Now I have the moose hide to craft that 5kg carry satchel! No more being overburdened all the dang time.

The revolver in fact does hurt the moose. I tried this the other day, I remember my first moose taking about 8 or so rifle shots ,this was before the revolver was in the game, I used the revolver against it and went through a whole cylinder and about 6 rifle rounds.

One shotted moose with a rifle, never tried a revolver.

It all comes down to your critical hit chance. Revolvers seem to have the lowest chance of a critical hit so it should take a lot of revolver hits to finally get a critical hit and kill the moose. I think I only was able to one shot a moose with a bow or rifle if I was level 4 or better, your chances of getting a critical hit aren't so great at level 1 or 2.

Maybe if you could duck into a nearby car or vehicle quickly enough, you could get the moose to charge you and try for head on snout shots but there are probably better ways to spend your time.

I have killed a moose with one arrow, and also one rifle hit. Tends to take more than that, although it depends on my skill levels, how close I am, and if I get it in the head or not. And then just good, ol' game RNG.
