Multiple layers?

My chart is telling me that I'm wearing 2 pair of jeans at the same time (checks in the chart in upper right corner)...can I acutally wear 2 of the same items at once? Of course in real life this is possible so you'd think they should allow it in the game.

Some items, yes. Some items are only able to be worn in the inside or outside slots only. Or in one layer only.

You can wear 2 pairs of jeans, 2 piar of climbing socks, 2 thin woll sweaters, or 2 wool toques, for example. But you can only wear one moosehide satchel, and only 1 balaclava. Some items can be layered, others cannot.

You can wear most of the clothing as pairs. However some pieces seems to lose it's wet effectiveness (means they dont stack) if you wear them in wrong slot (inner-outer layer thingie).

In my current game sometimes I find some of my inner layers wet or frostie and outer layers dry because of this.

How can you tell. My interface seems to say only one or the other? Should I mover items around and see if the inner / outer switches?

Get naked. Use the arrows to toggle through each selection of avaialble clothing for each slot. Some will be really obvious, if something only shows in the images for one slot, say outer layer (head) but not in the other... it only can be worn in one slot. Some will show as options for both inner and outer layers. There aren't too many that are one-slot-only, but there are a few.
