Hot Food Vs Cold Food Mechanic
Dose anyone know if there any benfit to eating cold food vs hot food if I'm planning on staying indoors were it warm? Theres a blizzard going on outside so that would mean death and in the mean time I'm breaking apart curtians, chairs ect. fixing up my clothes or will do some crafting.

Hot food keeps you warmer longer. Basicly cold weather is slightly less effective. Eating it cold just means you don't need to wait to eat it before opening it.

Hot food does two things. It restores some of your warmth on eatin, and it gives you a little resistance to cold for a while.
A half hour? Hour? Don't remember, but that's game time.

Hot Food will give you a immediate warmth boost (not too special as having hot food usually means you're next to a fire anyways) but it also increases your "Feels Like" temperature by 4C for the next 2 hours.

Alright so no point in eating it warm indoors. Thats what I was thinking I just wanted to ask and confirm.

No calorie boost.

You get a calorie boost for cooking raw animal meat if your cooking skill is high enough, but reheating processed food like Coffee or Beans will result only in a short warmth bonus mentioned above.

ive never *needed* warm food. the short duration, and the small bonus.. I'll take a hypothermia warning over the effort.

Well when I got a fire going if I have the time while Im out exploring Ill usally heat something up. Then I tend to lose no warmth while traveling.

Yeah, I normally hold a couple of sticks back, do what I need on the fire - cook a few steaks, boil some water. When I'm done I'll put just enough sticks on to boil a cup of coffee or heat some beans up so I can go without wasting the heat or the fire.

I have noticed - or at least I think I have - that eating cooked meat immediately after cooking it doesn't give you a warmth bonus, unlike the tinned goods.
