Cleaning skill?????
So, as I was just cleaning my newly found rifle, I've noticed, that after each "repairing" of the rifle (called cleaning here), my cleaning skill goes up. But... There is no such skill. At least not in my journal. Anyone knows what's that and how to check my cleaning level (and it's bonuses)?
Also - shouldn't player unload a rifle before each clean, because of accidental shot risk?

It's left over from before the new skill system was created. It used to be that your skill would go up as you clean, and as it does you are able to restore a higher percentage with each cleaning action. Now it simply reduces the amount of time required to clean, while your percentage restored is affected by your Rifle skill. You can't actually see this score displayed anywhere, you just kind of have to keep it in the back of your head. It caps at 100 though so eventually you'll stop seeing it.

Edit: Come to think of it, I don't think it ever raised the amount restored...I think it always just decreased the time it takes to clean.

Wow, good to know, thanks a lot!
But why it's not listed among with other skills? Are there any other 'hidden' skills, like this one?

That cleaning skill is like the sharpening skill when using the whetstone on a knife or hatchet. No level up system like with Cooking, or Carcass Havesting, but it does give you a small percentage increase in amount cleaned or sharpened as the skill number goes up.From 3% > 4%, etc., once you hit a certain number of points.

Who knows? It may become an actual Level 1-5 skill someday. Mending was similar in thepst, no level up skill, but it had the skill increases like rifle cleaning and blade sharpening do. And they made it into an actual Skill with buffs for leveling up. Archery also didn;t used to have a Skill leveling up system. So, maybe the number system is just a placeholder, until they determine how to mark the levels, and what buffs would be appropriate to apply to each new level.

So I suppose we shall have to wait and see?
