Inner vs. Outer Clothing
Something that I thought about, does it matter what you equip into inner and outer? For example if I have two shirts, one with 2 degrees agaisnt wind protection vs. the other having only one, should I equip the better shirt in the outter layer?

I noticed that when I wore military pants as an outer layer over my deerskin pants that my deerskin pants stopped degrading so much. Also the outer layer will get wet first so I'd put more waterproof stuff on the outside too.

In the case of wind protection, it appears the outer layer controls as matters currently stand.

Wear a windbreaker (wind protection 2 C) and a expeditionary parka (wind protection 4C) and you will find that your wind protection will depend on which is the outer layer. They do not add together. On the other hand, the heat bonus from each garment does add together.

This is based on playing around with outer and inner layers. I currently still use one layer of clothes because the stuff is rather heavy (and Pilgrim is not so harsh on the player).

You should also make your outer layer the one that's most water resistant, since wet clothing reduces the warmth it provides.

I did notice this, really cool mechanic... i'm still fumbling with the new clothing system however :) It's great fun

Whichever combination you have or choose to wear, you want the most durable and waterproof on the outside with the edge going to the most Waterproof. Say you have work pants and jeans, but no snow pants yet _ You would wear the work wants on the outside. Later when you get some snow pants you ditch the jeans and put the Snow Pants on the outside. The most waterproof goes on the outside. If you get wet cloths next to your skin, frostbite is not far behind. and that is perminant damage.

The main thing I noticed is that you want your most waterproof, regardless of warmth bonus, on the outside. The same might also apply to armor or whatever, but I'm not sure about that yet.

The cheaper and worse wear - outer clothing. It helps in case of wolf&bear attacks and snow storm especially.

Thanks for all the replies guys, after reading these comments and some experimenting on my own I would have to give the edge to waterproof clothes. Clothes get wet when you walk outside now, and frostbite is now constantly something to watch out for. So like others pointed out, put the most waterproof clothes on the outside layer, if both items have similar waterproofnes then go for the item with the most wind resistance.
