waiting for aurora

How many hours of real time has anyone waited for the aurora to get through the dam?

I'm at six as of writting this, can't see waisting any more, ready to quite storymode again.

There are several posts with ideas about this. I recall reading that some people went to the trailers across the tracks and slept there and that triggered the aurora.

Had the same issue. It was long (and dark, yes) and I think it's part of the game, not a glitch (but I may be wrong)... To be sure it works, don't wait inside the Dam. The trailers are perfect to wait for the aurora, because they have electricity therefore let you know when aurora is here. It took seven days for the aurora to come.

It's not a bug. You shouldn't wait or sleep around the hyroelectric central. You should sleep till night in another place (ex: the tower) and when you awake you'll see the radio is turned on and the Aurora has started. Then you'll head to the dam and the story will go on.

i had to wait like 3 days for it to come bring the light show back on at the dam. do as memomaniac said stay at the damn, around noon sleep for 5 or 6 hours to get rested up then play cards for a hour at a time to see if the aurora is active that evening. when i went into the bunker and the end and at the dam it took 3 days each time for the aurora to return. i just went through all my items and sorted what i wanted to take through the dam, you can not be over weight to get through the dam to the end of Ep 2, so i repaired all my clothing, prepared what i needed for water and food till then. i was sorry to see Ep 2 end. back to challenge and survival mode till i decide to revisit story mode on the most difficult setting.
