Tip on whiteout challenge

I'm 95 % done , can't find the damn rifle , any tips?

Raw meat counts as food. So do cattails. As for the rifle, the last car at the DP end of the map usually has one.

not only the car at end of bridge of the car, below the bridge to the left is a cave and a wolf, 95% chance the rifle spawns in there

I am now convinced that the only spawn point of the rifle in whiteout. Challenge is at the fall cave. I've run as far as mistery lake to find one, nowhere to be found . Thanks guys

Follow Bear Creek from the road all the way up North to the bridge. Looks like dude fell off bridge with his rifle.

This. I had gathered just about everything else neded soley in CH for the challenge within 5 days except for the damn rifle. I went all over ML and PV trying to find one to no avail. I took another 15 days to find one. Finally, I was getting ready to head towards DP, when I found the above mentioned dead body that I must have passed at least 10 times already above on the bridge itself. I did a massive face palm and finally finished the challenge in just under 20 days.

lol, I have 30 rounds of ammo so I figured I'd shoot some wolves around the gas station, gather wood, and boil some water at night. Here's how it unfolded...

1) Take Rifle and 12 rounds from locker - check
2) Clean Rifle - check
3) Crouch and step out back door - check
4) Stand up and wolf spots me.
5) Take aim and fire...No Shot. I forgot to load the rifle...doh
6) Plus I forgot my sharp knife on the work bench...had the axe though
7) Guess I'll be doing some sewing in the morning.

Years of playing FPS have thought me to reload often. Something I have found very helpful here! :)

So did you ever find a rifle? I've played Whiteout twice (I hate it, personally, but like an idiot I passed it first time back when I was on the experimental branch and it got wiped) and I never had an issue finding one fairly quick either time.

If you still haven't, you might want to have a go at DP. There is a (good) chance that the sneaky HIbernia one is there, and if not Scruffy's cave is a fairly good bet. The sneaky Hibernia Processing Plant one is - start in the room with the fire barrel in it, go through the double doorway into the main plant, look to the left along the wall and you will see a little area in the corner blocked by two crates stacked one on top of the other. Break those down so you can get into the corner, and there should be a backpack, goodies, and a rifle.

Yup success!! Found it in the cave at the end of DP, it's scripted , cause I've searxhed as far as mistery lake and it's was nowhere but in the cave . I'm on the rescue challenge.now it's an intense walk.

Glad you got it. Here's a freebie tip for Hopeless Rescue - it's a speed run pure and simple. Never, ever, ever stop moving unless you have to. Oh yeah, and you can save a whole day by Skyrimming down from the plane to the lake rather than backtracking down the ropes. There's a vid on youtube of a dude doing ithe whole thing in 18 in-game hours, which is admittedly nuts.

Another one I've done twice, but in this case because it's fun. First time I beat it, I did so with 42 minutes to spare, lol. The trick to the challenges is remember it's not about survival like the regular game, it's about getting from A to B. I took 3 days beating the Hunted pt. 2 for the first time, the last time I played it I did it in under 4 hours. You can do it!

I've found four bloody rifles. No joke. I even managed to find five more rounds than I need to stash, so the pressure to not fire the gun I'm carrying for protection is off a bit. I found a jerrycan FULL of oil, so I'll be dragging that back and lantern oil problem solved(and found maybe four or so lanterns too).

I found the expedition parka, mukluks and gauntlets, so if I have stab-fight wolves in a blizzard for extra meat I can probably do that too.

What I haven't found is a hatchet. I have the means to craft an improvised one, and I'm out at desolation point scrounging for goodies. Before I head for the forge, will an improvised one do? Or should I keep looking in different spots? Most games I have more trouble finding a hacksaw, and I've found two in the processing plant.

If your still playing found a rifle in the Outlook Tower with 1 bullet under the flipped over chair (crouch to grab).
