I havn't really played the game since the update, but what is these new wolves? Something similar to magical wolves that just spawn at certain times/conditions?
I can understand that, doesn't sound like something I'll be very fond of either. The biggest reason that I enjoy TLD over most other survival games is the fact that it was "you against the enviroment" not "you against some supernatural threat like zombies/monsters/aliens". Might not be a gamebreaker tho, I'll see, but I hope the devs refrain from implementing more of such things.
Aurora is great feature though and I like it.
The Aurora that caused the wires to become powered again is what recharged your flashlight. The only time a flashlight recharges in the game is during Aurora activity.
Don't go trying to get electrocuted just to power up your flashlight. You do not need to.
But, yeah. They are heavy and have very limited use. I think if the batteries stayed charged for a short time, after the Aurora ends, it might be more worthwhile to keep one nearby. Say: batteries stay charged for 4 hours after the Aurora ends, before draining completely. Turn ithe flashlight on and use that reserve battery power- 1 hour battery life on low, 20 minutes or so on high. Basically just enough time to get you into a dark shelter and geta fire built on high, or to get through the first or last part of a mine on low.
Only issue I see if trying to set the time/batter life usage with 2 settings. laterns are easier... only 1 setting. Use the flashlight on low for XX mintues, how much time is left if you switch it to high? And how angry will some players get if they walk through the dark woods for 45 minutes with the flashlight on low, aren't paying attention to the time scale in the game, encounter a wolf, flip the flashlight to high, and it dies in 2 seconds?
Maybe if we coud whack a wolf upside the head with it, and have a chance to scare it off? (Make it a really bad melee weapon, works like the hammer or prybar, but takes 10X as much time and clicking, barely better than fists only?)
