Throwing rocks: a tutorial

Contrary to popular belief, throwing rocks is not random aiming. It takes practice but it's actually very consistent and accurate and easy once you understand the mechanics.

First gather about 10 rocks.

Then, place an item on the ground to throw rocks at. It can be anything in your pack or just choose a stump or bush to throw at. I think you should use something the size of or smaller than a rabbit to throw at like a can of food or something.

Walk about 20 feet from your target object and drop a stick. This will mark your throwing point so you are consistent.

Load up your throwing arm so you are holding a rock.

Right click so you are aiming with your left hand in front of your face.

Place your target just above the ball of the thumb on your left hand so it looks like your target is sitting on the end of your thumb.

Throw the rock and observe where it goes.

Adjust accordingly until you are hitting your target.

*note* You will notice the rock goes in the exact same place every time if you don't move your hand. It is very consistent.

Move back another 20 feet and repeat. See the difference of where the rock lands vs when you are closer. Try a lot of different distances and standing vs crouching when you throw.

Practice until you are comfortable with the mechanics. Once you see what is happening when you throw a rock it's becomes very easy to kill rabbits. If you still can't hit them try crouch walking to get really, really close to them.
