Rock throwing, the thumb is the key!!
Hi guys , just want to tip you on the rabbit hunt with stones, I found out that the tumb is your sight, just place your tumb under the rabbit, with a decent distance you will get them most of the time!!, have a nice hunt !!

hey thanks for that. i think i am 1 for about 500 trying to rock those bunnies. got my first one in story mode and it was all luck after around ten tries. i'll give it a try, anything has to be better then what i've been doing.

Keep me posted on how you improved your aim with the thumb technique!!

God I miss the bunny snares lol

a hint too they will scare off the position where the rock lands so if it is to far throw a rock behind the bunny so it runs to you and hit it easy with another rock did that at the start and to catch them in traps faster :)

I actually had no idea this was a thing before story mode. I used to use rocks as trail lines to navigate in the dark.. i mean i tried throwing them at things.. but those things killed me. So i just never bothered and learned to survive through other means.

you spelled tumb in your description (not titel ;) :P and I have to be honest I suck at throwing rocks XD best one 1 hit 1 rabbit, most despred one 20 rocks 2 bunnis so don't worry its training. ^^

I kinda line it up using thumb, finger and ring - seems to work ok.

Still needs practice.

Also, I feel that the rabbits now react differently and have better reflex.

Something needed or otherwise the snare becomes useless.

Thanks. Maybe I'll actually be able to hit something.

I've been using the fingers as a sort of crude cross hairs for a little while. Seems to be better to position yourself so the rabbit is coming towards you, not while traveling sideways. I also find that it matters if there is anything (and I mean anything) on the ground between you and the rabbit. If there is a small curve of snowy terrain, tiny stick or other minor thing in the way, it will register it as a 'strike' instead and not nail the bunny, even if the stone actually bounces off the critter's body afterwards (ugh!)! Crouching is good, and I have the best luck when I'm on flat ice...I think of that as 'curling for bunny meat'. I mean, it IS Canada, after all.

My only 'happy moment' with stone hunting is when I was hunting at night, with my breath obscuring my sight every few seconds and me essentially aiming at little shadows. I lobbed five or so stones at this one furry little sucker that kept leaping up a steep wall to dodge them, and I was like "Oh, to hell with this one" and chucked my last stone in his general direction...and managed to somehow nail it while it was running away. Oh, *squeakSNAP* never sounded so good...
