Found a decent loadout with great weight aswell!
So latly I've been playing around with weight and speed. I've found a "decent" loadout. I have:

1 firestriker for desprate times. a box of 32 matches for a quick fire.

2 antobiotics in-case of food poisoning and If I need more just go to my shelf. 8 painkillers. If I use them all go back and get s'more. 5 bandages. 5 old mans beard bandages. (so no heavy anti-septic is good)

2 wool touqes. bunny mitten gloves. 2 wool longjohns. cargo pants, insulated boots, 2 wool socks, 2 thin wool sweaters, 2 expadition parkas,

1GAL of water, Maybe 1 deer steak (1k calories with Level 5 cooking)

Hunting knife, bedroll, fishing tackle, The lack of things I would usually bring is: can opener, hatchet, storm lantern, sewing kit, and rifle, I would bring a hatchet on my long journeys. but If I don't need to harvest wood it's a waste. cause a knife is better for harvesting frozen, or thawed meat with level 5 harvesting. the can opener is useless with Level 5 cooking. since you can smash the can without losing ANY calories. Storm lantern isn't useful if i'm not going in dark places. Sewing kit is replaced with the fishing tackle. rifle isn't useful if i'm not hunting. and i'm pretty good at avoiding wolves.

What do you all think of this loadout? i have 39 pounds. so I have atleast 30 more before I start walking slow. and If I get hungry in the middle of no-where I have an extra 1k calories, and water is no problem unless i'm out a while. can't run out of fire supplies. and I always pickup sticks along the way so firewood is nothing to be worried. What's your opinions and something I could change about it?

Maybe switch to the metric system? lol

hmmmm. I think 39 pounds is something of 19K or something? and 1gal of water is about 1 and a half leiters? not sure XD

Yeah 1kg is 2.2lbs, and 4 liters is about 1 gallon. Take the absolute numeric value of celsius, double it, and add 30 to get the fahrenheit approximate...

But I still think naturally in celsius. I live in the northern US where the imperial scale is still dominant, but I still use metric in my daily life.

I usually have between 2 and 3 L of water. Usually will last me at least 24 hours, but then again I'm never without a hatchet. And yeah, maybe a couple fish or a steak, along with any food I have that has gone under 50%. 3 beard bandages.. question though, I thought antibiotics were obsolete with lvl 5 cooking?
would you lose too much warmth by switching to deerskin boots or mukluks?
2nd parka is a rare find, gg

Deerskin boots are practically the same as insulated. they both weigh 4 pounds and give about 4.5+F. Mukluks I havn't found in-game yet. I've seen them on youtube and look pretty good. I might try and find them and give it a go!

Damn...I have yet to fine one Expedition Parka...and you got two? I won't count on seeing this load out again. That some good luck there.

Why do you need 5 bandages in addition to 5 old-man's-beard bandages? Regular bandages are only good for burns. Don't burn yourself...

Your loadouts will depend on the activities you want to do and your skill levels (i.e firestarting, etc.)

Matches are super light but I only carry about 10. - I figure how many fires am I really starting?

Again, antibiotics are light but I never carry them. Even if I get food poisoning, etc. I can find reishi (or if prepared have some ready). No bandages at all and only 2 OMBB. On any attack, it's rare that I need more than 2 OMBB...if so you're probably dead.

Toques, longjohns and socks are great since they minimally impact weight and have almost zero effect on sprinting. The insulated boots are such hit to sprinting -12%. Same with bunny mittens which reduces sprinting by -5% (I think this is a bit unbalanced especially in relation to warmth). Wool anything is a good idea (except if you find climbing socks as they are the same but add additional wind protection and (I think) attack protection.

I rarely carry more than .25L. My thought is I hydrate before heading out and if I am caught somewhere, I can easily start a fire and boil some H2o. Tip: Adding sticks instead of logs, increases the fire temperature. I can't remember the temp for cedar but says its +5. Adding 15+ sticks will produce better temps. - Sorry don't have the stats in front of me.

Imo, you still seem a bit overweight but not by much. Im exploring single layer clothing using simply crafted items as the outer layer with wool long johns. I know the items are not as good as before but my theory is just because there is a multi layer clothing system doesn't warrant filling each block to create the best. The balaclava provides the best overall condition + so I will wear that on the inner layer.

Sorry rambling. Let us know how you make out!

Ikr! I think I found 1 in The PV farmstead and the other one I found in a rope cave on mystery lake.

I don't like taking chances. I see you're a risky man :P I would carry flares but I don't run into wolves as often. and even when I do I can easily out-run them with my lightweight set
