Thank you! I didn't want to spend longer than I had to in there! Beside the fact that the day is almost over, it's creepy af in that warehouse.
All the bones...
Had it been night...
I probably would've been mauled by now. Or out of breath. Or missing a couple bullets.
True. But I couldn't bear the thought of sleeping in there. The big open rooms, the bones just hanging from the ceiling, little to no lighting....
Plus the sound effects of that place make it sound like someone or something is in the warehouse with you which is kinda creepy, I'm sure you'll agree.
it's a geat base. Workbench, indoors, usually rich with loot, and usually some of the best loot around. Lots of neat hding places to discover and find loot in. Close to the Riken and the Forge, lots of metal to break down for scrap, 2 Trailers outside to loot, good hunting all around, bear, wolf, rabbit, a bit far from the deer though. Not a far dash to Scruffy's cave,m which is ideal, once Scruffy is dealt with, Good outdoor location to avoid Cabin Fever. Multiple ways to get in and out of hibernia, where the Lighthouse has a single door and path to get to it. I prefer Hibernia over the Lighthouse. I tend to loot the LH first, and head to Hibernia to base up asap.
*Chuckles* And that is what is best about this game. We all get creeped out by different things, we all have our own favorite spots, for our own reasons. :)
(minor eidts for typos and mis-named wolfies)
Huh. My base on DP right now, before I move back to CH, is the Lighthouse. It has a nice cosy feel to it, plus the fact that the view from the top is probably one of the best views in the game. The summit of TWM would probably be really nice too.
Anyway, did you find the rifle in the warehouse?
Oh.
Hell yeah.
Carter Hydro.
*Shudders*
There are actually several spawn points for the rifle in Hibernia. I usually fidn ine there, and if niot... off to visit Scruffy to grab it there. Usually the last spot I check, if I have not found the rifle elsewhere on the DP map. I really prefer not to go visit Scruffy w/o the rifle or at least a bow and several arrows. Because Scruffy seems to come out of nowhere, and hits harder then Fkufffy. At least in my dealings with him and her.
But eah. Carter Hydro is the place with sounds that creep me out more than any other location on any of the maps. Excluding Forlorn Muskeg. That entire map creeps me out.
(minor edits because- tired and dyslexia)
It would have been less of an issue if there was a fishing hut in DP (ie, a source of lamp oil)
Oh yeah. Forlorn Muskeg. The idea of everything in a map just being so barren is kinda spooky. I check the Whiteberry map and there are 3 spawn points on DP for the rifle. Scruffy's cave, Hibernia Processing and The Stone Church. Hibernia and The Cave sound like they are the most common. The Stone Church being the safest option.
Also, I wouldn't consider Hibernia a good base location for the fact that there is a Gank Squad of wolves outside. But eh, if you can deal with 'em, go ahead!
The only times I have been ganked by wolves or a bear over at hiberna, was when I got sloppy, wasn;t paying attention, went out in fog and decided to go back instead of dashing to the Riken to hole up, or just was not paying attention to audio cues that bear or wolf was in the area. I get nailed over by the Lighthouse, especially down on the ice if I decide to go down to loot beached boats or go deer hunting. Though, in Stalker, DP and CH both suck as far as dealing with aggro wolves goes.
And as far as it being dark in Hibernia? Downstairs, a bit. But good enough light to get around in during the day. Upstairs is nicely lit, except in the office, and the metal grate walkway over to the top area (from the back wall of the office), with the broken window and pile of snow, to the sloping ledge, where Marty may be often found sitting against the wall. With some good loot (usually) in Voyageur. And the pipes, inside and out. Climb in, climb up. Often some real goodies to be found, Like boxes of ammo, and up top, a rifle, a bedroll, ammo, some snacks and drinks, among some possible finds.
I still r prefer to base in Hibernia. Loot rich, easy access to and from. All depends on why I am on that map, and how long I intend to stay there.
True. In my opinion, DP is one of the worst maps. I mean, come on, how many locations are you really going to visit?
Lighthouse
HIbernia
Riken
Scruffy's Cave
Stone Church
That's basically everything important. Some might head to Katie's Secluded Corner, but that's about everything to loot on this map. Something like ML has
Camp Office
Carter Hydro
Trapper's Cabin
Forestry Outlook
Lake Cabins (Due to the gun spawn)
The fact that you can fish on the lake
And pretty much every building on ML has loot. And there are a lot of buildings.
But DP?
That's pretty much all the buildings.
Plus I would head to ML just to get the view from the Ravine.
Because damn.
That's beautiful.
I found a rifle in CH, with about 5 bullets. Traveled to DP.
Only been here in DP for 4 days, including the day I stayed in the OIC, due to a blizzard. What's my bullet count now? 29....
Jesus.
