HOW TO DRY CLOTHES AND SHOES ???
Tried many different ways, stay indoor near the fire for like 10 hours, wetness didn't go down one bit.

Depends on if they were frozen that will take longer to defrost, then dry out. Take the off. You'll be warmer too

Seems like a bug tbh if being near a fire for 10hr and it doesn't drop the wetness one bit. A 10hr fire would warm you up no matter what the weather is like, plus you mentioned you were indoors.

Try removing the clothes and see how it goess

THe best way I have found is to take the clothes that are wet or frozen off and lay them next to a fire (even if it is outside on the snow they will still dry relatively quickly.) You can also just take the clothes off and lay them inside somewhere not next to a fire but it will take longer. Finally the clothes will eventually dry while you wear them if you are not recieving more water like if your walking through a blizzard.

Or you could bless them with your noodly appendage :)

Just don't ignore them. Learned a lesson a couple of days ago when I didn't check my clothes before ducking into a "warm" fishing hut and fished without a fire. Got hit with frostbite (bummer) cause my wet gloves froze. Have added another check routine to my list. Monitor how wet my clothiings is getting and do something about it. Course, once bitten, are you immune to any further damage?

like others stated, just take them off and drop them by a fire, it'll take about 2 game hours if they're frozen. otherwise it'll take about 1 game hour to dry off.

I did, took off all the clothings and place it by the fire, nothing happened...

I guess I need to start a new game to figure out whether or not it is a bug... Been surviving for about 60 days and now the save is struck by a bug.. gahh

That has to be a bug. In my current playthrough, my clothes have been getting wet just about every day, and I've been drying them by just making a fire and standing next to it. I've watched the percentages go down in realtime (42% wet, 41% wet, etc). Not sure if taking the clothes off makes the dry time faster, but it's definitely not necessary.

well no it's not necessary to take off the clothes, but it can help prevent frostbite, and you dont have to stand by a fire and do nothing.

I just started a new sandbox and clothes are drying normally now. Thanks for the help, I guess :D

I took my clothes off in front of a fire to dry. It was for 6 hours. I slept and when I put them back on none were dry at all . The wetness percentage was still the same. Is this a bug then ?

In your last sentence, are you asking if you are immune to frostbite once you've already taken the permanent damage?

If so, then no you are not immune. You can get multiple frostbite afflictions, and they add on to each other.

My current run I was very dumb as I fell through the ice in FM going to forge. Got to the forge already tired and at night figured I'd sleep a while before getting the forge going (early game, didn't have much coal or wood so I wanted to conserve it). Checked the bed temp and I knew I wouldn't freeze while sleeping so I went for it.

Got two frostbite afflictions due to frozen clothes. I thought about ending the run, but decided to see how far I can go with such a penalty so early in the game (it is voyager, so not crazy hard). I'm at day 100ish with no problems, working on 50 days in AC before moving back to TWM.

This necro post is FOUR years old. I would assume much has changed. Best to start a new thread with your question/comment.
