Fluffy and Scruffy, what do you think?

Okay, so I've seen a lot of let's play vids and read a lot of threads, and now I have to ask... male or female?

In my head, Fluffy has always been a girl wolf, and Scruffy has always been a boy. I think I may have even imagined them as being a couple, even though they are separated on the polar opposite ends of the overall world map. In the story I seem to have somehow unconciously come up with for them, she tracked one poor guy across the maps from DP to the dam and got him in the big room, where he managed to escape through the door at the bottom, trapping her inside. He then died from his wounds, still clutching the torch he couldn't quite get lit in time to save himself on his last mad dash for the safety of the lower regions. As we all know, he's still there... as is she.

Funny how so many of the little things in the game suggest a backstory without actually giving one. Two dead guys, a prybar, and an outhouse anyone, or Point of Contention?

Anyway, I digress. Half the threads, vids and whatnot that mention Fluffy and Scruffy use 'her,' the other half use 'him.' So how do you see them? Boy or girl or what?

Fluffy is a female, has been known as one, decided by the Community, for a long time.

Scruffy is a male. again, been known as one, decided by the Community, for a long time.

And @hinterland_community has referred to Fluffy as "she" many times on these forums. No, I am not going to search their post history to link the posts where they have. But those posts do exist. Don't recall if they ever referred to Scruffy here as "he" or not though.

See, that's what I thought... and yet it continously comes up with people calling her "he."

Gender confusion, such a maze. :P

Well, all the deer are Stags, we almost all call the bears "he", and Fluffy is the only "she" commonly reffered to. @hinterland_community referring to Fluffy as "she" kinda unofficially officially confirmed that the Community's ID of Fluffy as "she" is accepted as lore now.

But people are free to assign whatever genders or traits they like to any creature in their game.

Lol, at least I can't be the only one quietly singing "little bunny foo-foo" when hunting wabbits. Weirdly, I've also always thought of the DP bear as a she...

I love how organic community lore assigns so much to Fluffy, Scruffy and others in TLD, it's a testament for our love for this world, this game

They aren't sibs, just cousins (ask IFYIGD for the specifics) Page 7, but the whole discussion is entertaining. Can't believe I'm still playing after all this time.
