What does the fire symbol thing mean and why is only one of the embers highlighted?

It's your smell-o-meter, aka how food-smelling you are to wolves. The fuller the meter (3 bars), the farther away you can be smelled and the yummier they will find you. Means you have something that smells good to them on you, like meat or fish.

even with just 1/3 scent meter filled i'm getting followed by 3-4 wolves lol...hangry s.o.b's.....i mean when i look behind for the first dog, i see other's farther behind comin too....the farther ones have less line of sight though.

I'd suggest adding a humanoid symbol to the smell-o-meter, because it's hard to tell what it is without knowing beforehand
