Wolf eating deer, will he come back?

If i scare a wolf eating a deer and retreat 24 hours, can i be 100% sure the wolves won t come back to eat it?
There is a second wolf with the first one, that i don t plan to scare, can that be another problem?

they wont come back to eat it, they will only eat meat you drop as decoys and sometimes harvested meat you have left outside to keep longer, that is in their pathing

I plan to steer the deer in the pack of 2 wolves, scare the one eating with a torch and retreat to come back later once the pack wolf will have move, mostly for skin and gut.

Make a camp fire near dear, wolves stay away.

But not too close or maybe deer b ody block their vision of fire and they get you. :)

i've left meat outside the CH petrol station but the wolves do not eat them. i'm sure only decoys gets eaten :)

If you have a bow and arrow you can scare wolves away from deer kills with a near miss. Make sure you launch the arrow from outside the wolves alert range. Much safer, and if you get lucky and hit the wolf, so much better.

So you all know, it s working.
I gave up on the previous situation only to come back later on the same issue with three wolves, but with a sunny day!
So since it spares me the use of a match i decided to give it a try, steered the deer in the pack, scared only the wolf that was eating while his 2 buddies were walking around, retreat to my base with one of the wolf stalking me, and did other stuff for few hours until the pack was a bit further from the carcasss, allowing me to harvest the full deer.
