1. I hoped that the hut won't give me cabin fever. -> Wrong.
2. A new bear skin ? --> Right.
3. More supplies especially sharpening stones. --> To be done.
In fact my days on CH felt somehow harder but better. Problem is like on all other maps the fishing. Until now and for me CH is the fishing place with best kalorie/effort rating + coal mines.
I think i will try TWM top the next ~ 20 days and perhaps settle back.
ML was a bit better with the weather, best days on -6 degrees. At TMW i had -11 until now.
btw. have you found ANY useful clothes anywhere ? I am nearly down to the crafted ones...
Hmm, I found the weather in CH to be easier. There I had 1 arrow temperature drops quite frequently. This has never happened on TWM. Still, even TWM is better than PV. That's unbearable.
155 days! Impressive. Going for that sweet 200?
As for clothing, I found some woolen socks, a woolen toque, and jeans inside the cointainers (near the engine, near the bear, and in the Tail Section). I also found a ski jacket in the Hut. Oh, and trail boots, but they're not that relevant. .
A part of what I enjoy about this game and this forum is how you Hinterland folks participate in it. It makes a difference!
Anybody who feels confident about the weather on Interloper is a dead man walking. It's the first sign that you will die, because most often overconfidence is what kills you.
As for supplies, I have approx 80 matches, they're the most important. I have some pre-disaster food, 8 kilos of deer meet, a bow and one arrow, and all tools, save for the hatchet. Crafted clothes and a bedroll, of course, nearly all best non craftable clothes, and some comfort items like lanterns and the flare pistol. Unfortunately, my cloth, arrowhead, and whetstone supplies are all in Quinset Station, and I'm going to need them pretty soon (gulp).
Uhhh...really? This might be true on Interloper though, but I didn't think play mode changed what shelters caused cabin fever just the ratio of indoor/outdoor time. On Voy I spent 2 weeks at MH and quite a bit of it indoors and never even a warning of CF. I thought TWM was CF-free region honestly...
I still couldn't figure out exactly how long it takes to be indoors, I haven't read the wiki and I don't wanna. It's just that it feels like it's not a fixed rate. Because I too remember spending a lot of time indoors in TWM and not having c/f. But last time I was there, I entered a spiral of freezing and cabin fever in the main hut. And again, I got it inside a cave too, while climbing the damn summit.
Could we have the option to repair the hole in the roof of the hut? Combine bedding? Im finding it hard to balance the need to keep a fire going nearly all the time.. I'd strap some plain crash junk to the roof and door before I let all my heat escape in a storm.. Can't even close the windows! Not much of a mountaineer's hut if everyone who falls asleep there freezes to death. They'd have warmer cots/beds prepared too, maybe even a nice down mummy bag.
Im complaining so much because I really like TWM but its hard to justify staying there as I slowly lose the battle to extreme cold inside the Hut. Climbing ropes is also super exhausting.. Is it supposed to take days to get to the summit? I have to sleep in caves because ropes totally drain me even with a light inventory..
