TL;DR- They aren't done with First Person Presence yet. It's a placeholder.
I've NEVER seen -30C. have you seen -40c? if so, wow. and where was it? XD
Just to be clear -- while some things in the game are a work in progress, the current skin tone is an artistic choice (with intention). It's not that they are necessarily characters with Albinism, rather it reflects an approach to art and design. It's stylized.
We've also heard requests as well for additional skin tones ( in Sandbox mode) and we are looking into making that possible down the road. Thanks for your question.
That's one of the things I'm beginning to despise about games. When devs feel compelled to placate every different group, you start to lose creative focus. To be fair, however, I didn't see the original post as going that direction, but it's still how I see the discussion about things like story decisions.
Sandbox does make sense for a lot more diversity simply because the player creates a huge chunk of that story in his or her head while playing the game. In that case, making it easier for someone to get into the character is better.
what the hell man? he was asking if the person was albino because his/her skin is white. he's not trying to start a racist war of hell...
nah, he was not ... no where in any game discription is a reference to Albinoism. The point was to create a discussion around the 'Color' of the character.
he was asking the question like most curious humans do. to recive an answer. and he was questioning wether the human was albino because some albino's have white skin... like our character.
However, now that we're addressing the color (or lack thereof) of the character models, it's perfectly legitimate to talk about it as a larger issue. Frankly, I don't care about the skin color so much as about how the design team sees the characters and what they think will fit in the story they're trying to tell us. If there's a specific character in mind, then use that character. Other devs are free to create a game with purple people with orange spots for all I care. ...And if it's a good game, I won't care.
