Wolf dies after fight. Does this affect the "pacifist" achievement?

Hey there,

i try to get the Pacifist achievement but had a fight with an wolf. Now the wolf will die from blood loose. Does this ruin my achivement? or does it count as "self defence"?

I think this is self deffense. Not sure now. Just go in the statistics in your journal and check if you killed anything. If it dies after some time it should be registred as official kill.

jep.... 1 killed wolf... i´ll just try to kill nothing else... then we´ll see if it counts as self defence and still gets me the achivement... even if i dont think that this will happen

I got my achievement on Nomad. You travel a lot a there is a lot of canned food. When you hear a wolf barking it means it will attack you - then just light a flare and keep going back, he will stop and you can drop some fresh meet and keep retreating - the wolf will get his meat and will go away.

Nope. Shpuldn;t break the achievement progress at all. I wnet out of my way to avoid wolves while getting the achievement, only to be told by a dozen or so people afterward, that self-defense kills after a wolf sturggle would not have affected my getting the achievement.

Once the attack animation starts, you don;t have a choice. You will fight back no matter what. You just can't willingly kill any animal or fish. You can still hunt... but only by driving prey toward a wolf or wolves, letting them make the kill, and then chasing them off and stealing the kill. You just can;t be the aggressor. Tested this with a friend who bought the game after I had already gotten the achievement. I didn;t see the whole run, but they told me they had multiple wolf struggles, with multiple wolves dying afterward. They just made sure they did not fish, or hunt with snares, bow & arrow, rifle or distress pistol. And they got the achievement.

was lighting a flare... he didnt care.....
