So ask yourself how often you hth with wolves versus sprinting, getting caught in snow.
And work boots of course are a warmer.
Pretty sure work boots are only a little warmer. maybe by 1+F. and yes that's true it's better protection against wolves. but trail boots let you run farther, more water proof, and weigh less. Also have higher wind resistance. so in my book trail boots are better. and if you can avoid wolves/bears, you dont need the extra protection.
But hey, something better will come along. Combat boots in CH would definitely be my optimal choice, and I love Mukluks in general, but when they just disappear from your inventory on loading...what can ya do?
heh. i suggest inuslated boots after mukluks. weigh 4 pounds, I think 40% protection and 30%ish waterproof? and +4.5F and 3+ish windchill
