There is another way back in - don't want to spoil anything but have a good look around - look high and low :)
Your way shall be fraught with peril, the tiniest slip could send you hurtling to your death. Blocked by rock and ice, look not for open doorways; a fool's errand, indeed. A source of light on bright, sunny days to give warmth to interiors, a view of the world without to those within. Fluffy clearly knew the way! She might have stopped for a meal before breaking in. Did you stop to say, "Hello?"
Did you ever get the feeling you want to jump off the dam? You know you will die so that won't work but those feeling persist.
honestly, exploration followed by discovery is one of the sweetest most rewarding aspects of the game - i really wouldn't want to deprive you of this. You are close...........
When at the dam that dosen't let you go back in, turn right and walk across the dam. seriously, there's a small ledge where you can walk across to another side. once you're on that side, head towards the dam up the snowbank into the broken window. this will take you back into the break room where you can travel back up into the upper dam.
He hasn't been back to report on his progress since, however. He's probably either moved on, found his way, or became Fluffy or one of her friend's new favorite chew toy.
Ik, but I just wanted to give him a direct answer incase he couldn't find a way through the hints above.
At any rate, I thought my metaphor-laced hints would have provided a pretty decent road map for anyone wanting to work out the problem linguistically, if not practically. :D
Thanks again.
I'm still dilly dallying in Mystery Lake. Once resources start to get low there I'll try the dam or else the Ravine to go to Coastal Highway. I have a parallel game going starting out at Coastal Highway and so far I've explored probably half the huts and still haven't found a hatchet.
