How often does beach combling stuff respawn ?
I have been playing this game for a while but just a week or so ago I found out about this way of getting useful items. I am just curious after what time do they respawn ?

It respawns constantly. Every day there's a small chance that something will appear, somewhere along the coast. If you beachcomb every day you might go a couple days without seeing anything new, then find a random bottle of pills washed up somewhere. If you forget about it and just live your life for a few game weeks, then go check, you will find a few goodies sprinkled here and there.

Beachcombing is one of those things that won't yield great results if you do it every day, but plan on devoting a game day to it maybe once every couple game weeks or so and you're golden.

Depends on the mode too, I think - takes like twice as long for stuff to respawn on loper.

It's not really a beach per se, it's where the ice shelf meets the ocean. Head to some coastal regions and follow the sound of the waves.

Just be ready to run when the ice starts to crack :)

I'm playing the easy world, is it in that one too?

Beachcombing is available in every mode.

Yep, those coastal regions can be reached on any difficultly. Right now you're in Mystery Lake. If you make it to the Coastal Highway or Desolation Point regions, you'll see a big stretch of ice leading out to the ocean. The beachcombing is near the open water.

I made it back to the Dam, supposed to be a gun there, couldn't find it. I thought those other places were in other play modes. That's cool if they are in my easy mode.

Jebblue, if you look at the zone descriptions in the create new sandbox UI it actually says which regions they connect to. Mystery Lake connects to Coastal Highway, via a transition zone called The Ravine. It's a pretty long hike with no easy shelter along the way, however. Save it for sometime you are ready for a fresh challenge.

Did you check down in the turbine room in the shadows by the stairs on the the end that leads to the lower dam?

There are a few guaranteed spawns, but not many. None of the weapon spawns are guaranteed, but if you keep checking different possibilities then yes you will eventually find one. After you've explored the entire game world (especially on Pilgrim, but never on Interloper) you will likely end up with more than one rifle. While you're getting a feel for the world, where the transitions are, where the interior locations are, etc. always keep a bedroll in your backpack. That way if you get stuck or trapped, you can find a cave or some other nook or cranny and at least sleep a few hours, before setting out again.

And really, don't be afraid of death. If you find that the situation is totally hopeless, throw caution to the wind and just start exploring. If you die, so be it. You will remember everything you explored. And maybe, just maybe, you'll discover something you did not expect. That is how I found Pleasant Valley.

I exited the Carter Dam and wound up in the Winding River. I didn't figure out how to re-enter the dam at the time, so I waited the night out, and soldiered on. My exploration led to a cave, which led to Pleasant Valley..and I found a farmhouse that saved my life.

Take risks! That's how you learn!

No shelter? OK yeah I need to play a lot more before that. :-)
