Presumably in story mode your point of view will alternate between Will and Astrid, but in sandbox you're picking one or the other.
I think he meant character creation as in picking your facial features, skin colour, hair style, etc. as in an RPG. But maybe I'm assuming too much. At any rate I'm sure OP will elaborate if they feel like it.
This is the only thing stopping me from buying the game. Customization is everything to me.
I get where you're coming from. I tend to connect very deeply with my game characters so customisation is huge for me too.
I think TLD still lets you connect though. Even though we only have the two M/F models you can shape *who* your character is by the *choices* you make in the game.
They old expression "the clothing makes you" fits here.
Picking the gear that you wear has such an impact on play style that it defines your characters. I end up choosing things that are "Less than ideal" to some because it matches my character and I enjoy and connect with that choice.
Same with tools and equipment.
These decisions have so much impact on game course that it starts to "become who you are"
You may not connect with it the way I do, but there's still the potential you might. Either way don't let the minor details of hair skin eye color and things like that stop you from enjoying an amazing game.
That's my say in it. I hope you give it a try
Cheers
Thanks, man. It seems amazing, and I liked This War of Mine, so maybe I think I'll like this too.
It's something I wanted to be able to feel like I'm the one trying to survive, but I realized that this game has a story to it so I'd be playing as the characters of the story. It would be nice if they one day add a custom mode, but for now I think I'm going to play regardless.
In story mode/Wintermute, the choice of whether you play the male or female char is dictated by the story, for example in the first two episodes, the story dictates that you are the Will Mackenzie the male char. Be Lucky!
