In the next patch they are adding passives for pulling 16(Sixteen not a typo) copies of a character. They range from requested fixes to kits(Dore) and a bunch of over kill damage buffs for others. Oh and they are also adding expiring pull currency so people can't save pulls as easily for multiple copies of a single character.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID.
It used to be a very generous gacha, but it is slowly shifting into a money hungry thing unworthy of anyone's time.
In addition to trying to introduce FOMO pulls, they have decided to release special buffs at max dupes. Max dupes is 16 copies of a character. When they announced it, they swore it would be minor and mostly fluff. And it is ! For standard characters, this buff at max dupes might as well not exist. But for limited characters ? It can double the damage of certain abilities.

This game is currently on a true downward spiral, as if they enjoyed being under the Damocles of EoS and want to go back to that state.

A great game, sadly the devs recently want to introduce more FOMO mechanics, limited pulls, under the guise of fighting "third party account selling". Flimsy excuses that hold no water. A shame, truly.

Morimens has fantastic visuals, sounds, and storylines but it's tied to an awful monetization model which keeps getting worse.

As a big spender in this game (hundreds in the last 3 months, those FOMO packs are dangerous) I can't in good faith recommend Morimens. Which hurts and is embarrassing, as I was championing Morimens to everyone I knew.

"It's not like other gacha, it's actually good!"

"Yeah the monetization model sucks, but there's much worse out there and there's nothing else like Morimens!"

That stopped today.

BIAV has a history of testing playerbase reception to awful practices (even for a gacha), and I found my limit for their nonsense.

It's the most dupe heavy gacha I've ever played, bar none; and they keep adding to it. They won't actually buff characters, just give them boosts at X number of dupes. They want to add a time limited pull currency when there's already four different currencies. They keep trying to force people to play unpopular game modes by nerfing current rewards.

It doesn't matter how often they backpedal (we're at, what, 3 within the last 24 hours?) if they keep showing they're testing what people will eat up.

I have played over 20 gachas within the last 10 years, probably a lot more games than that, spent money in many a one, but Morimens has been the most disappointing.

I imagine a timeline where Morimens is a real game, not held back by gacha garbage, and I feel sad at the wasted opportunity.

The core of the game is incredible, the audio-visual elements are fantastic even when compared to a real game, the narrative is one of those rare examples of Lovecraftian horror storytelling being done right. And it's all wasted because of an anti-consumer monetization model which keeps getting worse.

I'm done, and I wish I wasn't.
