How do i pick up crates?

You can't pick up crates and move them, sorry.
Just make more and move the items (Quite an annoying process if your new base is all the way across the map - trust me)

is there a way to destroy them?
I need to get them out of where they are now and put new ones somewhere else. wood isn't a problem, but i do need them moved

If you placed the crate you can just hold F to salvage them. If you can't do that, use either explosives or hi-caliber weapons to destroy it.
