If you mean with a new server/server restart, none at this time.

There's no option to disable / lower the amount of zombies which spawn on each server.

if you are running Admin Commands you can use /killzombies.

They will still respawn though. But wont activate/detroy structures unless a player activates them.

No, this needs to be a function in the game. With the addition of special zombies, the game becomes too intense for others likings. Forcing everyone to play the same thing is not very fair for those who want to replay the casual aspect that this game once had.

You can lower the amount of zombies or take them out completely.

For servers : edit the config.json - Difficulty - Zombies - Spawn_chance : lower it or set it to 0.0 for no zombies.

For singleplayer : advanced settings - Zombies - spawn chance : same procedure as above.

Yes it does, it does for me at least.
it can be a bit finicky but there are pleanty of tutorials I would imagine.
