Like seriously, Stop ♥♥♥♥ing complaining. Just take the ♥♥♥♥ing 5 minutes to learn how to control the sway and compensate for bullet drop. This isn't ♥♥♥♥ing bf4 or Cod, stop comparing everything to that.
"Omg in bf4 the bipod and scopes have no sway this is so unrealistic!11!!!!!!"
But maybe scope sway could be denied... ONLY BY BIPODS WHILE PRONE. So in order to stop your scope from shaking, all you gotta do is find a very rare attachment and lay prone on the ground, which makes you slow and vulnerable to rear attacks.
Time to lay down the law
I have never played CoD games. At all. I have, however, been playing Unturned since 2.0, and have been running my own server for over half a year.
I play Unturned to relax, it's a bit of fun I can jump on for 20 mins and just go ham. I do not play Unturned to be competetive, because that would be stupid.
I understand well the scope sway/bullet drop mechanics, I've played them before with Planetside 2 and Heroes and Generals, and on both I have managed to get kills at over 1km range. Not because I'm a CoD kiddie, but because I'm good at shooting.
And yet, as a server owner, I do not want these features on my server, why?
Because it's stressful. I can get these shots, but not always, I will miss, I will run out of Ammo, I will be stressed, and not having a good time.
And, before you all start saying "GIT GUD" or "It just requires skill"
The people who play on my server are far from skilled. I have been shot at by shadowstalkers hundreds of times, but I've only been hit five times. Because the people who play this game aren't that skilled.
So instead of ranged combat, everything is devolving into close quarters, which, to me, is even more stressful.
I have not played Unturned, nor hosted a server for all this time, to be stressed out from playing.
And I don't give a flying ♥♥♥♥ if you think it's balanced, or a good addition. It's my server, it's my choice, and you don't get a say in how I run MY server.
In a word, Get Dunked On
also with vertical grips and horizontal grips, but not entirely like bipods
It's probably because people expected this to be a very casual type of survival game, even on higher difficulties. Due to the look of the game, some people from other gaming communities, most notably Minecraft, would probably enjoy the game since it has a style comfortable towards them. And it's a zombie survival universe.
Like i'm sure anyone would be pretty intrigued about a new zombie survival game which looks like Minecraft and has some combat aspects similar to those of Battlefield and COD, disregarding the created reputations of the listed games. And then they would be (understandably) upset that it suddenly got a large difficulty spike in the shooting department.
This might be the exact same reason why there was such a large backlash from the food/water consumption increase and the 50% immunity drops.
New Minecraft-esc looking game based around zombies and survival. Sounds interesting right? Minecraft is pretty casual and nice, that must mean this game is pretty easy too huh? I guess i'll try it out. But then later find out it's quite harder than Minecraft in multiple perspectives.
I don't really mind anyone not enjoying the update in that respective, but sometimes it just gets a bit silly.
But I also do agree the features could be tweaked a small bit.
omgyespls.
As a server owner, I just want the ability to tweak/disable these new features on my own server. Since the update,I've seen a drop in payers, and I myself have lost interest. I mean, I watched two guys shooting each other from 100m away for five minutes. They both ran out of ammo and left.
This is not fun for me, or my players. If it is fun for some people, that's fine, they can play on their own servers.
Not gonna lie. I find that quite funny. But seriously who is doing that? Going closer is always an option.
But still you've been nothing but reasonable so far, I just don't want "HITSCANZ" to be next to the "OP KITZ" and "TPS HOMEZ" and this would drive a huge stake in between the community, Y'know how much faith in humanity you lose when someone joins, calls you a ♥♥♥ for not having op starter kits and tps, and leaves?
It'd happen many times more often if this happened, I think it should be toned down for people such as yourself, every 200 meters it drops a single thing down. So it still takes skill, but not as much skill.
Still I think it just needs like 50 more meters for each tick down, definitely not hitscan though.
I personally think Bullet drop shouldn't be as... excessive as it is.
I'll agree, snipers can be OP in the right hands, and bullet drop/travel time certainly does add a layer of skill. Hell, even if given the option, I wouldn't completley remove said features, especially for snipers. I would however greatly limit it, especially for assualt weapons. Using a Zubeknekov or Maplestrike at anything more than 100m has become a PITA, despite there real life counter-parts being able to fire effectivley at ranges triple that.
I'd also like to limit scope sway a fair amount. It's just annoying on most scopes, especially for shorter range combat, with Chevron scopes, and even up to 7x scopes.
As for "Splitting the community" I have no idea what you're talking about. Really. It's just a game feature. It's not like this is going to end friendships, or make people stop playing the game, if server owners are allowed to choose.
If there's any split, it's because some people really don't like the new feature, and as such, are loosing interest in the game (Myself included).
Unturned has had Hitscan since it's inception, that is the combat system all it's fans are used to, and, the system we fell in love with. It's fine if some people prefer the new system, and you should be able to play it if you wish, but I just want my old unturned back, the game I've spent ~330 hours playing, not to mention all the hours I've put into my server.
...Why do you think you can say if a server is "ruined" because it has a feature you don't like? Rocket has become so popular because so many people like it, Therefore, it is sucsessful, therefore it has IMPROVED the game. Because Unturned was not made to please you, it was made to please everyone who plays it, and as such, the more the merrier
And then have most players unable to connect to my server unless they do the same, a task which most players are not capable of doing. These are people who think port forwarding is too difficult, and setting up a server is too complicated. These are people who come onto my server, and spend five minutes trying to use the @ commands.
