How to make my home zombie proof ?
I found a nice place near a town with some picknick benches, a well and two tents and decided to build my home there.

After a lot of resource gathering and time I spent on building the home I wanted I found a problem that is starting to bother me.

When I leave the game and log back in, there are ALWAYS zombies punching my home, usually it's only 2-3 but I have had as many as 7. They quickly tear down my wooden home and leave me with more resource gathering and rebuilding it every time I start to play.

Now one thing that I will work on over time is replacing the wood with stone parts, but is there a way to stop the zombies from attacking my home ?

So far I thought about putting 2-3 lines of barbed wire around my home with a line of barbed fence in front of that. The idea is that zombies near the walls will die to the barbed wire on the ground and approaching zombies will be stopped by the barbed fence.

This is all until I can fnd a generator and then I will probably replace the barbed wire with electric traps and the barbed fence with an electric fence.

Is there any other way to protect my home and maybe even a permanent solution that I don't need to replace over and over again ?

Use the roof of one of the existing city houses, make a ladder and block it with a vehicle so zombies wouldn't destroy it. If you don't like roofs, use that barricaded house in Montague.

If you still want to actually build your own house, find a rural area where you never encountered zombies. (I recommend north of fernwood farm, by the shore)

Or simply let the zombies tear down your foundations, and have a floating base with only a 2nd floor. (Have an acess with a ladder)

I suppose I have to relocate my base in that case, I do want to build my own house but I want to use the ground floor and not have a floating home. Too bad I really liked my location :(

There is a solution if you don't want to relocate - spike traps.
Seeing how you need a lot of wood to make your own home, you can use the resources to make spikes.
They are most efficient against zombies because of the large damage radius and are cheap to make.

The solution I choose now is building my home on the water. I have a bridge from my current all the way to the Belfast Airport, the bridge has never been attacked so I hope my house will be save on the water.

Use a safezone radiator, also their are no electric fences in this game
