How to stop mega zombies from spawning

I really need help here. I try turning the zombie boss settings to zero, but the Ground Pounder, and Electrical Shooter still show up and ruin my day. They wouldn't be too much of a problem if I didn't rely on ground vehicles to take me around the map. But I do. Whatever vehicle I choose, also tends to be a huge mobile storage unit. So whenever I'm passing through a town with everything I own in a crate on the roof of my car, a mega zombie will show up out of nowhere. At first I'll freak out for a moment and try to escape, but the long range of the Electrical Shooter won't allow it. It will one hit blow up my vehicle, killing me and destroying my storage in the process. I just lost almost everything I owned because I took my full health fire truck through a town that happened to have an Electrical Shooter in the middle. So, in a nutshell, I just want someone to tell me how to stop them from spawning. If not that, at the very least how to keep them from one hit killing my vehicle. I play on single player, by the way. If that helps at all.

Go into advanced settings in the zombie settings and there's an option for the different boss zombies. Unfortunately Mega Zombies will still spawn but they are only at military locations. The Groundpounder Boss, Electric Boss, and Flamethrower Boss all have their individual settings.
