God Mode?

On the next update can you guys add a god mode for admins? So if we have to go do something we dont have to shut the server for everyone else who is playing, and we cant die while we are away.

That is pathetic. Could you have made a more lame excuse for wanting to run around slaying your clients? It takes about 5 seconds to disconnect and reconnect when going AFK.

Yes well i run a server for my friends. And i have to go and cook so im away from my computer for at least an hour which means i need to turn my server off which is unfair to them. Thats why i said for ADMINS, the person running the server. So they dont have to die when they need to get away from the computer. Keep in mind this is posted under SUGGESTIONS its just an idea. So you can go away.

I'm sorry, but what InsightKnight just wrote. This is a command that is WAAAAY too easy to abuse. Even if YOU wont abuse, there is a BIG chance that ALOT of others WILL. But if you want a "godmode" - you should ask for a /freeze command instead. /freeze = Freeze a player in a spot and he can't move or take damage while he is frozen.

In the 3.0 Version you can use /god if your server is running with ROCKET api. You can download the server api and plugins for 3.0 Version only on this website: https://rocket.foundation/

Sorry for sounding so mean about this issue but you have to understand this would ruin Admins ability to keep a clean server. I have already had arguments with players claiming I was using God Mode in my PvP server and the command does not even exist. I would much rather not have to justify every single kill in PvP to the player simply because they see a blue name and assume I am using cheats.

I get it, some pople would abuse it. But I think it would be a little helpful in some cases. It was just an idea my friends came up with for me to ask since it is hard to run a server and being away from the computer. And for us we have it on PvE since its just a server for me and my friends.

And i get that, and freeze, same to to me. As long as you can be away from the computer without your hunger and thirst going up. But so the person cant move. For a regualr player they can just disconnect and reconnect when they come back. But the person running the server cant do that when they have people on.

I would not trust 3rd party plugins as VAC could detect is as a clientside cheat, not to mention possible virus additions by the community. I think what would solve this issue is a spectate mode for admins so they can be in the game but not part of the game, able to fly around and inspect players they think are cheating or exploiting without actually effecting the gameplay itself.

As far as I can see this works a bit like mod loader did for 2.0, which replaces some the games dll files to allow other dll's/mods to be loaded on the server.

Something like that should only be used on the stand alone server(One downloaded through Steam CMD.), not when running the server through your main install, the same one for the client. Modding the clients can cuase problems if you use them on a vac sucured server. As far as viruses goes, if you're proficient enough in C# code, you could make your own plugins for the server.

Its not a bad idea but people will abuse it. i would use it for editorial testing on my Maps that i make. but just the otherday while relaxing and playing with a friend an admin tped onto me and show me with a rail... so ....

Its for admins who dont want to turn the server off when they need to do stuff.

god mode and invisible mode commands for server admin is VERY VERY USEFUL...

due to now some rugrats in the servers... they abuse/grief a lot, you need to monitoring them and get the evidence of them...

but no god mode and invisible mode for admin / operators.... then it is not that convenient...
