This isn't CoD.
Also, irl you get shot you don't immediately know where the bullet came from.
What is with people's obsession with these fishy games?
HL had a basic directional damage indicator, and it wasn't even the first game to do it. It has become a rather basic part of first person shooters everywhere, and for good reason.
It makes sense to know, with at the very least a ±45° range of accuracy, what direction damage is coming from. "Oh dear, my right arm and right side of my chest is hurt, golly gee what direction did that bullet-BARG I am dead! <killed by follow-up head shot through the right ear>
It doesn't have to be much of an indicator, or an intrusive one, or very accurate one, or even very noticeable, but some kind of hint where damage is coming from would be nice.
Even then, with damage indicators, even with experienced players, people derp and don't notice the basic things; so it isn't like people will never ever be able to do stealth kills again. People panic, and can still miss the detail of what direction a shot came from.
But you still can find out... It is never a total mystery... unless instantly put out of action.
They'll likely fight tooth and nail against it, because they have such a hate for that game, that they'd let it influence their decisions in a game they like.
If done well... and stressing 'if done wall', it would be a nice feature in Unturned.
I personally don't want hit indicators so as long as it's something I could toggle, I wouldn't mind it being a feature.
I know, that kind of thinking is easier said than done, an no one really is 100% objective and unbiased, but attempting to do so is better than just blindly following the same old, easy, possibly incorrect, patterns of behavior.
