Hover mode on helicopters
Putting hover mode on helicopters would make landing and taking of a hell of a lot easier. Not completely asking for it but I thought it could be a cool mechanic.

If you can't land one properly you suck at the game

Would this function be exclusive to pilot? Because I'm pretty sure someone else suggested a hover mode, (which I'm assuming would be like ArmA's auto-hover?) but it was bad since it would mean players could hover with a Hind and be a stand-still godly turret with the HMG.

So in order to avoid this, the auto-hover can only be enabled with a pilot in the seat. It will automatically be set on disabled once you get back in the pilot seat after you left it, just so people can't spam it to stay in the air with a Hind. But overall, yes, this needs to be here to make helicopters better.

I completly agree

Looks like a good idea, but you can already "hover" by repeatedly tapping W to stay between 45-48kph.

Basically what he said

I remember that thread, no idea what the original poster was thinking, that would've been so OP if it was added.

But autohover like arma? Sure

Um how would you know? I doubt you've seen him ingame.

And everyone has exploded at least once, I know I have quite a bit, but if I am actually trying to land and take off properly and I am actually SLIGHTLY careful, I'll be fine.

A street lamp exploded my Hind.

Another thing--hover mode would make it easier for landings and quick insertions. I hate having to land the heli fully while being shot at from all directions, just to get my clan out. A hover would make it a hella lot easier to gtfo in tight situations.

you kinda can, but you start to land and its not that great just trying to hover without having control or you having to fight the derection the heli wants to go

I once blew up a heli by entering it...
Not my finest moment.

It's already very easy to take off and land, at least after a bit of practice. I feel like this would be unnecessary, and could take some of the fun and challenge out of flying helis.

Taking off is easy--but I want easier ways for quick insertions.

Equip your team each with a splint and have them jump out with full strength skill. You can fall for about a minute and only take 12% dmg.

Just have your team-mates jump out midair with umbrellas.
