Armored vehicles should not take damage from high cal
Our armored vehicles are extremely rare and useful, but there is a huge problem. Armored vehicles can EASILY be shot down by high cal bullets. Your brand new super rare hind, can get shot down in 5 seconds easily, all it takes is a few grizzly shots or a spraydown of 30 lmg shots. It's ridiculous how easy they can be blown up, they are never safe. Parking your helicopter on top of your base just leads to some ♥♥♥♥ shooting it with a sniper and blowing it up, flying around is useless because it can be shot down so quickly. I can't go anymore into detail, this is just nonsense.
So here's how to fix it. Armored vehicles should not take damage from high cal guns, only explosive weapons. This means grenades and other explosives would be the only weapon capable of blowing up our helicopters and armored vehicles. This would make it a lot harder to shoot down helicopters and other armored vehicles out of the sky.
As a balancing feature to allow players to still defend against armored vehicles, high caliber bullets wouldn't damage the vehicle, but the bullets would pass through and slightly damage players inside. For example, shooting a grizzly at a helicopter would do about 30 damage to a player inside. Since lmgs fire a lot quicker, I would say each bullet should do 5 health through armored vehicles. This would still allow players to defend/attack armored vehicles.
Another thing, I think the armored vehicles should have bullet proof windows on them. For vehicles like the hind, even with my idea, it's still impossible to fly without getting shot, since you're so vulnerable. Basically, any window on armored vehicles should be a bullet proof window. To balance this, shooting the window could slightly crack the window, to reduce visibility.
If possible too, I think vehicles like the Annuska and Huey should have closable doors, just to protect the extremely vulnerable passengers.
Overall, this would make armored vehicles a lot more fair and worth their rarity. The fact that we can shoot something so rare down in 4 measly seconds is just stupid. It's too easy to do so, and with this, it would make attacking aircraft more dynamic, and balanced at the same time.

As another cool feature, we can have it where the only way to damage aircraft while in flight, is to shoot the turbines themselves, and it would do a very SMALL amount of damage. I'm talking 1 dragonfang shot that hits the propeller should slow the helicopter down, and have every 5 shots do 1% damage. Any other high cal gun that hits the propeller would instantly do 1% damage. Once a propeller is broken, it could stop working, and function kind of like shooting a tire out, the helicopter would slowly lose control and crash.

Another thing, I think HMG rounds should damage players even if you miss them by like 5 meters. Since it's SO hard to hit moving players with a flying vehicle, I think if you miss a direct hit by like 5 meters, it should do half damage (25 damage). Even though this is a false urban myth, it should be in Unturned, due to the extreme difficulty of hitting targets with the HMG gun. It would also make players actually get in cover when this gun fires, because it's ultimately used for suppression.

Grizzlies may be rare, but not as rare as a helicopter. Only a few helicopters can spawn at a time, while grizzlies can be farmed a lot easier. Also, it takes time to lose a Grizzly (unless you're bad), but with the helicopter, it can go away in SECONDS. Literally no time to react.

yeah because its logical for someone to shoot with a 50.cal into a willy jeep and only get sparks.

5000 hours and I have no idea what I'm talking about? Ig. Coming from the man that suggest we should only be able to blow up armored Vehicles with explosives. Go ahead and try and shoot down a heli that's flying away with an lmg, you might damage it but rarely are you actually gonna blow it up if the person knows how to evade. It's about timing like I said. Know when to pull up so it dosent hit the ground. You need to take into account how fast you're going and how long it's gonna take to pull up. It's not about dodging bullets either you tard, that dip down tactic is to get lower to the ground so it's harder to hit you. Come on now can we use some common sense?

Sir do you not understand that when the heli is flying at full power, if you dip it down as much as possible it flys towards the ground then have the common sense to know when to tilt it upwards it will not slam into the ground. It's not hard learn how to fly. It just sounds like you were playing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kit server and are butt hurt that Jim bob used kit grizzly and shot your heli down.
1. Never ever ever seen this happen.
2. When you turn back UP, the helicopter still goes towards the ground, you always crash.
3. You CAN'T dodge a bullet, I don't care if you can do that with a helicopter, players will still hit you. You have no idea what you're talking about.

If the heli is in the LMG range, it is not that hard to spray it down

LMG range being melee range.
Basically

Don't fly into enemy territory. Especially if they're geared with anti-materiel rifles.
Then what the hell are you supposed to use it for? It's used to get to locations quickly, and guess what goes to locations, geared players. You can't avoid it.
You're acting as if that's irregular. If you fly to a military base with a heli, you will be shot at, don't fly straight in, land somewhere outside where no one looks.

Bullets are not point and click, they have ballistics and are dodgeable. If you're being fired at, fly away. If you purposely maneuver your vehicles into areas filled with bad guys, they'll blow it up.

So you want an indestructible vehicle?Gl with that.OP.And then "Why people want this many nerf requests?!?!?"
Nope pepe Jun 3, 2017 @ 3:55am
+1 i think that when you hit rotors which are vulnerable the heli would spin out of control (its a weak spot), the HMG is fine, maybe just add a little more ammo to it, and making helis less vulnerable to high calibre ammo would make explosives more useful
