I bet it would be better if a server browser was implemented. Otherwise you just have to ask users to play with you or check the forums for playable servers, and from what I've seen, most of them are usually locked.
Since there is no objective, playing with your friend on a private server is boring and useless.
so if you have any eyes, " READ THE UPDATE NOTE".
there says " will come up with the List or servers"
DONT TELL ME I AM NEW GUYS~LALALALA.
EVERYTIME YOU PLAY ANYOTHER GAMES. TRY. TO. READ. THE . UPDATE. LOG!!!!!!!!
I wasn't making a new suggestion. I just said the game needs an objective, otherwise making it just an another open-world zombie survival game would be boring. Calm the ♥♥♥♥ down. [/quote]
telling the truth, object is what you have to make.
be automatic person.
You don't expect most open world zombie survival games to have an objective. Every game has a unique thing which others don't have. Don't expect a game to have it becaus you want it.
Please give one reason why it should have an objective.
Let's admit it: AT THE MOMENT, the game is Minecraft with guns and without the detailed build-your-own-house aspect. All you do is roam around and shoot zombies. If you do it with OTHER people, it's fun. MY problem is that playing with one friend on a private server is boring as ♥♥♥♥, and as a person without many friends, my options to playing Unturned are limited.
Pros:
// I would play on public servers if the game had a proper server browser.
Cons:
A game that does it (almost) perfectly, in my opinion, is Project Zomboid. The game gets progressively harder, as zombies start to form hordes and look through buildings for you, the water and electricity goes out, NPCs (I think they've already been added) can decide to kill you if they want to, and there are random events that may attract zombies to your base.
I'm hoping 3.0 will add in some simple pathfinding, so players can define routes for zombies to patrol their areas. It would make scavenging a bit harder. Also some basic AI like being attracted to noises, and having a visual range and states for curious and aggressive would help a lot. Maybe some tweaks to speed, as well. Walking zombies should speed up when they are aggressive so you can't just back up and punch your way through hordes.
There are quite a few youtube videos out already showing how to construct your own fortresses and crafting etc.
Some have mentioned how easy it can be once you have a weapon. From many of the videos I seen already a lot of folk like the PVP action. The idea seems to be to play solo to build up your gear/xp etc then blast in to a sync server already tooled up for the job :)
Imagine if they really posed a threat in the game. You come around a corner and see three zombies patrolling the front of a building. Inside you can see that high powered rifle you wanted, but all you have to deal with them is a katana and a handgun with a single bullet. Sure, you might be able to take out the three, but if they become aggressive, they'll start making more noise and attract two other groups down the street to your location. Since when they are aggressive they move faster, you can't just backpedal and kill them, plus they may grab you, which if you're being pursued by a horde can end your day pretty quick. One turns towards you and notices something out of place in your direction. You're not close enough to turn it aggressive, but it is now curious and makes a bee line for your position. You can run back around the corner and try to hide while it investigates the last position it saw you at or you can pull out your handgun and try to take it out before it gets to you. Of course, that would alert the other two groups and bring a horde to your position, making things even harder. You could try to cut it down with just the katana, but you run the risk of taking damage due to its increased speed when it gets closer to you and turns aggressive. And their bites could infect you, making it so you slowly gain more sickness until you eventually turn, leaving a zombie in your place that now has all of your equipment, making it that much harder to get back to where you were.
You decide to hide, wait for the zombie to return to his patrol. Then you head down the street, hide behind a building and take a shot at one of the other groups. As the rest of the zombies head over to investigate the noise you run back to grab the rifle. You didn't notice the crawler stuck in the shop with the rifle, though, and he turns aggressive. Since the other zombies outside are already curious, the noise upgrades them to aggressive as well and you now have a horde of 12 heading your way. You sprint off into the woods, hoping they'll lose sight of you as you cross over a small ridge. It works and they downgrade back to curious, but you need to find a place to hide quick. You lay prone in some tall grass, hoping your sneakybeaky skill is high enough to keep them from noticing you.
I think an experience more like that would improve the game greatly and could bring further consideration to how people design their maps. You could have games where people just play with their friends PvE and it would still be fun without it needing to be a precursor to playing against other people. There has been some word about possible night events and moon phases changing zombie strength or bringing in zombie hordes to raid bases and such. Combine that with smarter regular zombies and I think the game would have plenty to keep you busy without needing the PvP component as a crutch. It would also encourage people to play together more and not just kill on sight. Getting good gear would be harder and more time consuming. Plus with the class system, some crafting and skills may be restricted, making it so you'll need, or at least want, the skills of other players to survive the base game.
