It actually wasn't originally a Roblox game, I'm sure there was something similar before its time but Unturned took inspiration from other games to make what it is today. It had inspiration from Rust,Roblox and Day Z. Which turned out to work really well. It's pretty much Rust and Day Z's love child with a splash of Roblox in a heavily upgraded state. Some people make the connection with Minecraft due to the character models being closer related to NPC's / Steve.

It isn't a Roblox game originally, but the dev began his game making with Roblox. And this has some loose similarities to his original game Deadzone on Roblox.

Unturned's art style is very different from Roblox these days and curated map creators continue to make edits to the unofficial "guidelines".
