Multiplayer fix/workaround!

For the time being, the more people we can get on tunngle the better off the community will be. Tunngle is a completely free VPN software solution. It allows you to group up with friends or random people and host LAN games online. Using tunngle works VERY well with Unturned and its easy to setup. The Unturned room(s) in tunngle act as a server list that you can use to join games.

How-To Join a Game

Enter the Unturned Lobby
In the "Network Search" box, type unturned and press enter. Double click on unturned. You are now connected to the unturned LAN network. (If the Unturned network is full, there should be other Unturned networks you can join. If new networks dont start poping up as needed, please post here and ill work on fixing it.)

Find a Server
At this point, you can right click on any of the names on the right hand side of the screen and click "copy IP to clipboard". Start your copy of Unturned. Click Play, then Connect, then clear out the IP field and press Ctrl+v to paste the IP you just copied from tunngle. Leave the default port (25444). Do not enter a password. Click connect. You will connect to that persons game IF that person is hosting a server, the server has no password, is using the default port, and the server isnt full. If it doesnt connect, try getting a different IP from another person on the list (it is trial and error, but you WILL find one that you can connect to if you keep trying).

ALSO

Use the chat feature of tunngle once you are in the Unturned network to ask around for open servers. People will be "advertising" their servers in chat as you should be asking for one to join. This may prove to be a quicker way to join an open server than the trial and error method posted above. It just depends on how active the server hosts are in chat.

(If the Unturned network is full, there should be other Unturned networks listed that you can join, if not, post here and let me know. Ill work on fixing it asap. You can start a private/personal network and post the name of it in this thread if the main networks are full. If i see the main networks filling up I will edit this thread with details on how to setup private networks.)

Start the Server
Run Unturned, press Play, press Host, set the match to private and leave the port on its default setting (25444), leave the password field empty, set the max players to whatever you want (12 is max). Press Host. (If people cant join you, make sure your windows firewall has an exception for both unturned and tunngle. You shouldnt have to do this, but just in case. You do not need to worry about port forwarding!)

ALSO

You can NOT minimize the client when you are hosting, it will lag the server out because the CPU idles down. I would recommend running it in windowed mode and dragging it out of the way. If you arnt planning on playing and just want to run a server, you could also turn all of the graphics options way down to help run it a little faster.

Advertise that your server is open!
Use the chat in tungle to let people know that your server is open for business! You can tell them to join on your IP (right click your name in the list on the right and copy your IP to clip board then paste it in chat).

NOTES:

In update 2.0.5 Nelson addresses the issues at hand and is more than likely going to integrate steam servers as soon as he can, but until he gets them up and running, this WILL solve all multiplayer issues you are having. It will give you a way to be able to enjoy the game until this issue gets resolved.

just checked the forums, there's a fix for it, already got it running.
