i found 2 in one night at heratige, just go set up near there with loads of spikes/barbed wire, set up somewhere where the zombies will still aggro but cant come from behind (so like just ouside the front gate) then wait for blood moon and watch your traps do all the work, you should get one.

Yes. Ranger spawns are in certain places: there is one at the top of the lighthouse in PEI, several in the bunker of Holman Island in PEI, another group of spawn locations at Heritage Valley in Washington, in the vaults of the banks in the different towns, on top of all the radio towers (including the one in Scorpion-7 in Washington) and others scattered across the maps.

In each spawn location, there is a dice rolled for whatever item will appear there. Items such as butterfly knives, ranger ammo boxes, and balaclavas will be rolled more often than others such as Zubeknakovs or the rocket launcher you're looking to find.

It takes a bit of trial and error. My favorite weapon, the Matamorez, is also an uber-rare ranger spawn, so I know how it feels. It's most efficient to go to areas like the Holaman Isle bunker or Heritage Valley which have many ranger spawns grouped together, instead of areas that have a couple ranger spawns mixed with msotly other stuff (for example, the lighthouse).

Other spawn locations work the same way: you can find specific Military spawns in the bases and areas such as the convoy, or the standard civilian spawns that fill most towns.
