Unturned Without Steam
Any chance Unturned being downloadable without steam.
I hate having to need steam installed on my computer to play games.
Few people i told them about Unturned said they would only play it when it doesn't require steam.
I realize hes possibly worried about cheats and stuff but you can still cheat even with steam installed.

Why don't you want steam? It's not like origin or arc, which will spy on you as soon as let you play a game.

Steam and unturned, I believe, have a contract. If you want the latter, get the other. But seriously, steam download isn't large.

Once Steamworks will be integrated the whole "nosteam" will be impossible anyway

Steam uses resources that could be used with other things.
Either way not my fault use steam im sure their are many other people that feel the same as i do i come from a time when you bought a game and it never required a 3rd party program like steam to run the game.
Im sure their are many other people who will agree with me that making a game public without needing steam would get more people to play then now likely the only reason they won't comment is because they want nothing to do with steam. Look at Minecraft doesn't require steam to play simply download and play. Thats the way i like my games. I'm just stating that people i talk to will not play the game aslong as its on steam possibly because they have no idea what steam is or how to use it. Simple.

In this case only 1 person is programming and developing the game. How he should do the publishing too? Steam does the whole thing around downloads, updates, forums and so on. Its not "some required 3rd party", its a platform that eases the producing and publishing.

Sadly it's quite impossible for a 16-year-old boy to make the game so popular as it is without the help of Steam.

Not hard to setup a kickstarter to fund your game. No need to use childish insults for people who wanna share their own options. I've seen many games manage to start up before they moved over to steam like; 7 Days to Die, The Deadlinger them games managed to all have a setup you could download ever since they moved over to steam i've hardly played it. Normally when i do i play the cracked verison just so i can get away from steam. Btw Steam does spy on you just like origin does learn to research. http://yro.slashdot.org/story/14/02/17/1326200/report-valve-anti-cheat-vac-scans-your-dns-history proof Steam spys on what websites you go to.

You could be a little paranoid. We all know that privacy is a thing but, hey, welcome to the Internet.

i personally disagree (not that your oppinion is a bad one). steam groups and friends comply with unturned and other games well. its like an appstore that only has games.

Steam isn't obtrusive DRM, but he is the dev and can choose what he wants to do with it. If you don't want to use steam then don't play this game. It's not like he's making you install all sorts of adware to get it on your PC.

and also steam comunity is large so i guess you could say it advertises the game. bringing more money to the creator to make the game better.

Well, Steam is the biggest platform distributing game online. Most of todays games runs on steam. Iam too from the times before 3rd party programs. But hey, time have changed, you need to get over it. No one force you to play it anyway.

steam does not in any way spy on you
76561198144375430 Jul 27, 2014 @ 11:15am
it knows other players youve played with so if any chance you want to be friends with the person on steam the job is officially easier
