What the hell is the point of Semi Vanilla?

This ♥♥♥♥ has turned into minecraft. Everyone in minecraft play minigame servers with microtransactions and ♥♥♥♥. In Unturned, just about everyone plays on servers that are ass loaded with commands and dumbass perks for pvp or whatever. Where the hell are the regular Vanilla servers, where the hell are the challenging servers that are difficult to survive in?

The problem is that everybody has a slightly different take on that term.
For me personally semi-vanilla only entails RocketMod plugins that do not change the gameplay, for example a announcer, discord redirect, join/leave messages and the likes.
Kits (even if they only include quote unquote starter items), vault, any form of TP and the likes are changing the gameplay and therefore not semi-vanilla.

There a still a number of vanilla servers out there, but yeah, most of the servers aren’t vanilla.

You say that like i havent spent 1.5k hours playing unturned normally. I take quite a long break and come back to "SEMI VANILLA/TPA/KIT/HOME" servers. I would like to host my old server again but i would just be wasting time and internet bandwidth. Even when i did host a server, anyone that joined IMMEDIATLY typed "/kits" or "/home" and then complain that neither are added and leave even after the server list update hit. I live in NA and most of the servers even hosted are empty and have terribly high ping. Like someone commented earlier, i like semi vanilla servers that add something fun and deep to the game. Maybe some quality of life stuff, and even some stuff that make the gameplay a bit more deeper like lower loot spawns or changing loot tables, even having mods that help out with this. The point im illustrating is that if you look at the servers list, finding a decent server is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chore and it shouldnt be.

Prehaps the problem is that there is almost no Vanilla servers, only kits and mods.

I ran vanilla servers for a couple of years... nobody really plays them now so I stopped. It's a shame really that everybody wants the instant gratification of kits and tpa.

I help run a franchise of round about ten vanilla servers, they are very much alive and kicking

In other words, people are too lazy to play the game properly. Although, i dont mind modded maps and some modded items, so long as they dont end up being unfair against others.
